Name a high profile player that has lived up to expectations then. France were quality in the second half, and look like they've hit form at the right time.

I love the way Spain slipped into their tradition of looking good early on then blowing it....there were a lot in the media and punditry who thought this time they were the Real deal...

 France v Brazil.... Yes

It was a decent goal but no way near as good as Gerrard's or Joe Cole's for England. Pretty dull match.

i missed the goal as i fell asleep.

zizou's nowhere near his best anymore but he's still a class act at times, i think he's probably my favourite player of all time.

Yet you slate England at every oppurtunity, as do most. Odd.

But England haven't been the best. It's annoying because everyone knows they're under-performing. the nation expects david.

Requelme I would've expected more goals- but still been class I admit but aregentina have generally as a whle but can only get better. Kaka scored one fantastic goal, thats all.

At the end of the group stages I was thinking that this was a great tournament but since the ko stages it has reverted to the usual caution/cheating/dull thing it always is (Mexico v Arg excepted)
