Great news all round and doesn't look like Willy will be around for much longer as chairman either. Mark Devlin has been reinstated as Swindon Town's chief executive and has not ruled out further boardroom reshuffles in the new future.
Devlin returned to the County Ground last September, initially in a non-executive role as associate deputy chairman. He had quit his post as Town's chief executive in the summer of 2004 to take up a similar role at QPR. Devlin's reappointment means Sandy Gray will revert to her former role as financial director.
Devlin's friend and former QPR chairman Bill Power joined the Swindon board this month with an initial investment of £1million.
Power was instrumental in the hiring of new manager Dennis Wise and has made no secret of his desire to be a hands-on director at the club.
Rumours have circulated that he could replace Willie Carson as Swindon's chairman, and Devlin said more changes could follow by the middle of next month. He said: "Sandy Gray has moved back to her former role, looking after all matters financial, and I have now gone back to my former role as chief executive.
"As for any other movements, they would be discussed at the next board meeting, which should be before mid-June. At the moment, no decisions have been taken." Meanwhile, veteran striker Steve Claridge - a friend of Wise's - was yesterday linked with Swindon by a national newspaper.
The 40-year-old almost joined Town in March, and the Daily Press understands that he is still interested.
Swindon left-back Andy Nicholas has finally signed a new deal and captain Sean O'Hanlon looks likely to follow suit.
However, the future of Rhys Evans looks less clear. The goalkeeper wants an improved offer from Town and has also been offered terms by Blackpool.
The positions of Steve Jenkins and Paul Smith, who are both out of contract, are yet to be decided.
Wise goes on holiday for a fortnight today and Devlin said it was possible the duo would have to wait until he returned. Meanwhile, Brighton striker Chris McPhee, who was wanted by former Swindon boss Iffy Onuora, now looks to have fallen off Town's radar. http://www.westpress.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145787&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145780&contentPK=14525767&folderPk=69656

That is good news; although I hope he keeps a good eye on the finances seeing as Sandy is back in charge of them.

Poor old Jenks and Smith though bit of a drag for them having to wait for Wise to return after previously having offers sat on the table.
Finally, the McPhee deal looks a likely dead loss.
