Sounds like the case in the interview on the official site that there’s no old Steve Claridge on his way to the County Ground along with a few of the other Gents mentioned over the past couple of days.

I had no objection to Claridge to be honest he's a good example of a player who keeps himself in shape and has reaped the benefits into old age.  Good example and plenty of experience a character like Claridge coming off the bench is priceless.

never believed it anyway. claridge is way too old and would only be useful as a coach. 95% of rumours turn out to be bullshit i never believe anything until it is confirmed on the official site.

if walsall dumped claridge its a clear indication hes past it

If D&G want to bring in older players thats fine by me aslong as they're better than what we've got (which isn't hard), and they still can perform on the pitch.

Claridge is the sort of player clubs love to hate. Love him at your club but when you play against him you hate him. I started off a Weymouth reject chant once in the townend  Cool

I hope he gets a contract somewhere just cos I find him annoying as fuck on the TV/radio.

But we dont want him. Im hoping Morrell of Coventry will sign. Peacock/Morrell would have to be a great start to a proper good team.

Glad to see the club is not going to be a 'retirement home' for old players. Think we should have already learned that from Ruddock, Thorpe & Cureton.

I agree. The worst thing that could have happened would have been for Wise to bring in a load of his mates in and from what i hear that won't be the case.
