From WDP :

New manager Dennis Wise breezed into Swindon Town yesterday and immediately cut his players summer holidays.

But having assessed the Town squad since being offered the job by viewing match videos, Wise thinks the players should be fitter. So he has cut the summer break by a week to give him extra time to improve their fitness.
'We're going to get the players back slightly earlier because we want to have a good look at them' said Wise. 'I have looked at videos of the game and I think they could have been fitter'
'I don't want to critisize that's just what I think. I hope the players are already looking forward to the season and ready to work extremely hard in pre-season because I want my team to be strong physically and mentally'

Its like a breath of fresh air! sounds very promising. Alot of them did look very unfit last season, so hopefully dennis will put a stop to that and then there will be no excuse.

A bit more.....'Its a challenge I'm looking forward to' 'I'll give it my best shot and I can assure the fans that I will be working as hard as I can to bring success to the club'

Oh and Carson had a bit to say at the bottom which annoyed me. Since when does he care. A big manager comes in and he acts all interested again  :-))(

Some encouraging stuff on thisis today too including this from Mr Powers:

Power said: “If we can get Wayne Rooney for half a million, he’s coming. Seriously, if someone’s going to make that much difference then there’ll be money to bring the guy in.”

Also said he never expected to land Wise.

Cheesy  Sign Rooney then Billy boy.

When I watched it on the local news last night, power said he's good friends with wiseys father. So thats probably the connection.

if rooney was on sale for half a million, i think there would be a very long queue !   Probably he's worth that now, with one leg.

Not sure I agree with this, surely after a hard season the players should get as much rest as possible. Maybe give them an extra week off to chill out a bit.

I see both Wise and Poyet have registered as players but Wise did say he hoped it wouldn't be necessary to play.  I, for one, sure hope to see them both on the pitch, probably not at the same time!  Be a lot of running for someone like Pook...!!!   :old:  Surrender  :old:
