NEW BOSS IS TOLD HE MUST SPEND WISELY 09:50 - 19 May 2006 New Swindon Town director Bill Power insists a change of manager at the County Ground will not lead to another era of heavy spending. Town are set to appoint former Chelsea pair Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet as their new managerial team when contractual details are finalised later this week. A press conference has been earmarked for Monday. Power said: "I don't believe in the idea of buying your way to success. "Obviously if you are Chelsea you can do that, but for any other club in the country you have to have the right set-up and the right b e l i e f. " Wise and Poyet are set to take over from Iffy Onoura. Swindon had been reviewing Onuora's position following their relegation from League One and took the decision to dispense with him, despite 'all the hard work he has put in to trying to keep the club in League One'. http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145787&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145780&contentPK=14499457&folderPk=69656

Hopefully delaying until Monday is just so that Wise can actually be at the county ground to be peraded in front of the press or some such silly thing.
Not even STFC are dumb enough to sack the Iffy without having a definite replacement. Are they.....Oh shit, I'm worrying now....

Perhaps they have to fly Gus over? Is he living back in his homeland of You Are Gay?

Oh shit, I'm worrying now.... It's not as if we've ever sacked someone, appointed someone new, that hasn't lasted and the old manager has come back in has it?

Gus is already in England, as he's playing in that charity "England Vs The World" footy game with the likes of Rbbie Williams, Jonathan Wilkes etc.

Poyet is a legend. I was speaking to my mate who supports Palace yesterday and he was surprised that Wise and Poyet were getting involved but in a good way. I just hope the extra media attention plays into our hands rather than the opposite.

player/manager as well, fan-fucking-tastic!! Agreed. That was the bit that made me most happy. Regardless of age he showed he could still do it in the Chamiponship and therefore could be a key player next season in League Two. Just the kind of midfielder we need.

Plus if he plays we will have a leader on the pitch, something we have been lacking for a while.
I'm more confident of survival but we'll have to wait and see what sort of players he'll bring in really.

Gus is a legend... in an action that tarnished his reputation among some Chelsea fans due to the fierce rivalry between the clubs, he kissed the Tottenham badge in front of the Chelsea fans during a match
