I have seen this point made a few times and to counter it, I would like the make the following rebuttal:

Prior to their appointment as STFC manager the following had NO experience of their respective divisions:
(All divisions mentioned are in 'old money' i.e before it all got fucked up by Murdoch and others)

Macari - Div 4
Ossie - Div 2
Hoddle - Div 2
McMahon - Div 3

All of those managers had only every played at Division 1 level (old money again) and International level.  In EACH case they got us promoted in either their first or second season.

There is no reason therefore, for little diddy Dennis's lack of knowledge of the lower leagues (we are of course ASSUMING he knows nothing) to be a hindrance in getting us promoted.
