Apparently Iffy is going to have to reapply for his own job according to the WDP. I know a lot of people slate the WDP but there are direct quotes from Bill Power so I don't think it's bollocks this time: http://www.westpress.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=145787&command=displayContent&sourceNode=145780&contentPK=14480821&folderPk=69656This is all leading to Holloway coming in I reckon - Dead cert And Power said: "At the moment Iffy is in the driving seat but we need to make sure we are doing the right thing.
"If Iffy can prove he is the right man then he is the man who will be there.
"But if there is any doubt at all then we have got a list of other people."

Think it might be game over for iffy. Bit harsh. Holloway is obviously the big hope, although knowing swindon we'll end up with someone like peado Rix.

fucking ridiculous,if they want rid of iffy it should have been done when our fate was sealed.not let him dish contracts out and make offers to players then give him the boot. if that is what they do then i will haver no faith in the board whatsoever. its madness

Very harsh on Iffy.
This is a sly way to get us a different manager in but better than just getting rid.
Fingers crossed for Holloway.

Who would you like then?
I think holloway will offer us a higher profile and thus allow us to attract better players. He also has a proven track record and experience of getting teams promoted. I can overlook the fact that he's a gashead.

holloway unless i'm mistaken has one promotion to his credit,he ballsed up at rovers and blew promotion when they were home and dry.struggled and relegated ever since. i just think that there are better options out there if iffy gets the boot
if the board are letting iffy hire and fire players then he should be given a crack at it

It’s a tad odd but not an unusual concept to reply for a managerial job before, during and after a big change.
Just a bit strange with it being quite so public but that said I don’t think it’s a bad thing in the slightest. If Iffy really believes he can get the club up next season as the board require (realistic or not) then he’ll get the job.
A bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone and if Onura does think he can do it and keeps the position then it should help put an end to some of the speculation and hopefully spell out that the big man is here on some sort of merit rather than being the cheap incumbent alternative to Andy King. I think for all concerned it’s better to get this sort of thing out of the way now rather than wait two months down the line into the season and start discussing the manager’s future. Likewise if Iffy thinks there are more prospects of keeping a hard-on in a pensioner’s sock then it gives him the opportunity to walk with some dignity and pride and make for a fresh break.
I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere to be honest, he’s got the position interview or not and it’s his to lose. No bad thing either in my opinion.

if the board are letting iffy hire and fire players then he should be given a crack at it He took a pretty poor Gashead's outfit from 17th to the playoffs in his first season in charge. I don't think anyone could have kept up QPR in the position they were in when he took over mid-way through that season. Who else would you recommend aside from Iffy? I went through the list of available manager and aside from Ternent and Brian Flynn couldn't find anything really worth mentioning. That said Ling a Ding Ding is mentioned in that interview and there have been a few rumours about on that front for a few weeks now. I think I'd still take a Holloway over a Ling mind.

well if we are to get holloway he will have to bring his wage demands right down, according to people at the club i have spoken to, holloway wages were well out of our leauge, ling could be odds on, i dont think his working relationship with hearn is too hot.
if i was a betting man i would stick a fiver on holloway, its to cosy not to be.

i think lings a non starter as he's a londoner managing a newly promoted side.unless he's offered stupid money he'll stay put.
i'm sure holloway would take the job if offered and i suspect if iffy goes then it will be him.
i haven't looked at the list but would like a young player manager who is hungry to succeed.all our success of the last 20odd years was acheived that way.everyone of those men was a surprise so i would welcome something like that again

I assume there is no legal requirement to re-interview a vacant position now King has been terminated? I wouldn't be suprised if the WDP are blowing up something that isn't anything at all.
I'd be suprised if Iffy wasn't here next year. Unless he has said he doesn't want an experienced assistant coming in undermining him, in which case he could have shot himself in the foot.
Wonder when BP made these quotes?

The article sounds fair enough having spoke to the guy at the Huddersfield game. It certainly didn't sound like everything was signed and sealed on the exact make-up of the backroom team.
