After watching the repeats of teenager touretters last night it got me thinking, what is the difference between a sufferer of tourettes and a sufferer of scitsafrenia(I know I've spelt that wrong but you can't blame me) Are they based upon the same thing or are the symtoms different. Enlighten me I like learning new things I does. I don't think I've ever come across anyone with either of them, although I remember someone on here saying once that we played a team and their goalkeeper had tourettes and kept shouting things. But maybe thats just normal because Rhys does it alot.

Tim Howard, who coincidently signed for Everton on loan today, has tourettes.
It's spelt schizophrenia.

Its quite dangerous for a footballer to have it really, could cause arguments and fights and it would be extremely difficult for a referee to judge whether the player was meant to call him a stupid wanker or it was his tourettes kicking in :?

acute schizophrenia is having hallucinations, voices speaking to the sufferer, delusions and the like. chronic schizophrenia is not unlike unipolar depression, ie. social withdrawal, lack of conversation and also including hings like odd ideas and behaviour and threats/violence
tourettes as said above is being unable to contol your speech at certain time. i don't think howard's tourettes involves swear words, or at least no where near the extent of the more media popular cases
