Back from a lovely trip down south to see my family and thought I would review my week in God's country.

Friday - Never drive anywhere on a bank holiday, it took me 8 and a half hours to drive from Edinburgh to Wantage on a journey that normally takes nearer 6. Saw a young man on the side of the road whose VW camper van had caught fire and was totally smoldered!

Saturday - Bristol City v Swindon. Got to Bristol early and found a dodgy looking pub that was showing the Chelsea v Man U game. It was quite friendly however and they did cracking ham salad and cheese and onion rolls. Beer was cheap and the City fans came across as being fairly pleasant. Walked to the ground and was thoroughly impressed with our support who sang their hearts out from start to finish. The players put in a great effort in searing sun and was especially impressed with Aaron Brown (who scored a belter) and Lukas Jutkiewicz. Their goal could have been avoided but what an exciting second half with Cureton missing his customary sitter! Gutted to go down but how quiet are Bristol City's fans!! Not a peep from them even after they scored, awful!!

Sunday - 10 mile walk along the river Thames with my Old man and Uncle. Was pretty knackering but good to get out in the open and a nice meal in Chelsea.

Monday - Visited my granparents in Fareham as it was my grans birthday. Granddad who is a Pompey fan chuffed to bits that they stayed up.

Tuesday - Shopping in Fareham, had Plaice and Chips, far too much batter, dissapointing!

Wednesday - Horse Racing at Cheltenham. Only a Hunters meeting but good to see the course and picked 3 winners and a 25/1 second which we backed to win!! Oops

Thursday - Swindon Robins v Oxford Cheetahs. Totally one sided Speedway match with a maximum from the pole Seb Ulamek. Good to stuff Oxford!!

Friday - Went to London to see Stomp at the Strand. Was really good bearing in mind they didn't use 1 musical instrument all through the show. They got a standing ovation which pissed me off, everybody gives standing ovations these days!

Saturday - Swindon v Huddersfield - Awful first half of football but thought we did ok second half, what was their player sent off for? Cureton hit the bar and their goalkeeper made some good saves. Pook was shocking but seemed a different player when moved deeper in defence!

So all in all a good week, Swindon went down, Hearts qualified for the Champions League and I had a telephone interview with the company in Luxemburg and I have decided I am going to move if all goes well.

Oh and I heard a rumour that there may be plenty of Conferences at the Kassam next season?

We went to the Grove before the game, it was full of Huddersfield fans, nice lot though, were really sympathetic about us going down and seemed genuine.

Northeners are so cool  Cheesy  I love going to oooop north away games. Chips and gravy mmmmmm. I will never forget when we went to blackpool away. We went for a drink before the game in blackpool reds B&B (speak of the devil where is he these days?) and as we were walking into the ground some little man, a blackpool fan on a grannymobile span past us singing 'sammy igoe is a wanker' because my sister had igoe on the back of her shirt, I nearly wet myself I was laughing so much. Around the ground they were all so friendly and bubbly, even the stewards  Shocked
When we went out in the town that night, we were waiting in the que of a restaurant and some kid infront just turned around and started telling me how I looked like someone off the tv programme he had been watching.  Cool  Fabaluss
weekend.
I wonder if they think that us country people are friendly ?

Speaking of which, I feel we've been lied to about your girth.  You don't look that much bigger than me in the photos.

And to think the last three years everytime I've seen a fat bloke in his thirties at Swindon I've thought, I wonder if that's the cunt Cheesy
