basically my aunty and uncle moved out there years ago, and my aunty and cousin claire are over here now....and they cant stop talking about how great it is and how id be welcome to go out and stay there.

Tempted to jack in my job/take leave and go out there for a couple of months....

Seriously fella why not take the risk before you have to worry about mortgages and stuff.You'll probably get your job back if you dont like it out there anyway.My mum went for a couple of months and she loved it .

Sydney is too big a city. Very expensive to live round there. Saw more Brits and Soth East Asian folks there than Aussies.

Australia is very 'English' and has a less foreign feel than the U.S. So much so that many of the TV commercials have English & Scottish regional accented voice overs ! You can get Cadbury's chocolate and many other UK items very reasonable priced; again not like in the U.S.
