Reg is the new DV85!

Tuesday crushed the last ounce of optimism out of me...its plain the players have jacked it in....we've a mega CVA payment to meet next season, so the budget will be minimal.

O*ford struggle yet owe nothing, can afford to play the likes of Mooney more than us, and spent money in the transfer window.....we've lost this season already to 3 L2 sides in cup comps.

From hereon...I believe we're in a medium term battle to retain our league status, until the CG situation is resolved one way or the other.
i dont think we can be compared to other clubs so closely though, with kassam in charge. he's running oufc like any of his other businesses, but football clubs cannot survive like that.

in fact, maybe it balances out considering our good finances but poor chairmanship, compared to the majority in div3 who have little money but are well run clubs with good spirit at the board level.

From the outside Mr K looks like the very model chairman...got the new ground done with the bolt ons to avoid going into unsustainable debt....responded to fans in changing managers, and attends fans forums and matches.

Without his input....for which I believe he has been awarded an honorary fellowship of a univ....for services to the community in O*ford....you'd have been non league 4 or 5 years ago.

your nuts reg.

from the outside he appears just as shambolic as he is, its just you don't seem to know very much about him equally i dont know much about your situation other than accounts not being filed for ages.

got the new ground done and admits he took a tidy £6m profit on the manor land away from oufc and into his personal coffers. now we rent a ground. nobody knows what might have happened if he hadn't come in, there were 2 other parties but that's history now. yes he saved us but he's fucked us over too.

the bolt ons are completely separate from the club and all the profits are never seen reinvested at the club. bowlplex, gym with swimming pool, bingo, hotel, cinema, restaurant, 2nd hotel (coming soon) surrounding the kass stad rake it in.

if he wanted to build a promotion winning side and setup he could do it at the snap of his fingers (if anyone would work with him anymore).

he attends fans forums and ignores questions he doesn't like. he just says "next". PR is his worst aspect (or best)); there is little and when statements are released (e.g. the one the other day) their only purpose is to delay fans' action. he always manages to just subside any action with clever decisions.

the fellowship is a great example of what money can buy you. it was laughed at by the oxford fans i know, and those on TiU.

if we've got such a wonderful setup and chairman then why has it all gone tits up, reg? there's one common denominator, Firoz Kassam. if he doesn't relinquish complete operational control of oufc then we're fucked.

you're nuts reg.

pedant.

the fans who turned up 500 in number at the recent fans forum only to be fobbed off by kassam once more? he also allowed to us to question talbot (strict pro-FK answers only, or he loses his job) and steve hanks (general manager, a far below standard appointment to appease our demands for someone to run the club properly, now sacked).

the fans who attended div3 matches 5000 strong for 5 years. we've put up with alot of crap and got little reward. take my case for example, i began supporting at christmas 2000, saw us get relegated and concede 100+. end of the season kassam makes a speech about the wonderful journey ahead of us, etc etc basically promising success.

we've done nothing; one season finished just outside the playoffs after kassam and atkins bodged things up.

Makes me laugh, if people think they can run the club better put your money where your mouth is and do a better job.

It's quite funny that in our hour of darkness, as if by spite, Oxford have to do that much more.

We think we're shit cos we're in danger of going down to Div 2, so just like that bloke up the pub who's been there and done everything before, Oxford rub it in our faces by flirting with relegation to the conference.

It's like the Monty Python sketch pre cruxifiction "You lucky bastards, relegation to League 2, what I'd give for relegation to league 2, you lucky lucky bastards!!!"
