The black one with the white stripe described as grey in the manual goes into the red hole on my surround system.  The all black goes into the all black just like the Rugby team in the showers.  Apparently.

Don't know if it matters or not though.  Have you got a manual China Time Tom?

There should be a positive and a negative symbol on the jacket of the cable. The positive bit goes into the red plug and the negative bit goes into the black. Hope that helps.

believe it or not trial and error was the first thing i tried. was just asking on here to see if anyone actually knew the answer.
