Jonny jackson's free-kick was good, but never good enough to be the best of the lot surely?

 No.

In terms of only getting the one league goal in a lengthy STFC career look no further than the legendary Harry Cousins.

Harry was a legendary hard man from the 30's and may have got a few in post war.....he played 300+ games and scored the once v Torquay around 37.

He then was trainer for years including doing the job in 69.

This was a sort of pre physio thing...whereby you ran on with a bucket of cold water and stuffed a wet sponge down the players shorts.....Harry would then encourage said player to "run it off" in his Chesterfield accent.

Harry's son Pete has been a stalwart of the local Swindon music scene for what seems like a 100 years now....in a variety of bands. Pete's DJing in my local once a month on a Sunday night is always worth a listen as he dips into his collection of classic Soul, R and B originals and particularly Ska and reggae.

How many did John Trollope score in his 700+ appearances? I don't imagine him being a goal scoring machine. Did he get any?

Trolley normally would be good for 1 or 2 a season....one of his more memorable efforts was v Scum in a 4-0 demo job at the CG around 72.

Arthur Horsfield got a hat trick....Trolly had gone on one of his overlapping runs...got played in by can't remember who and lashed it in from the edge of the box without breaking his run as he continued.

Think Nicho has only the one league goal at Stockport...

Maybe that's the goal I'm thinking of....both wear yellow shirts.

Its interesting you should mention Watford as rivals....

There always used to be a bit of trouble against them....in the famous 69 game large scale mayhem......

When they became a family club though under Graham Taylor...it just sort of disappeared....and I can't think of any in recent times.
