I believe you are a witneyite if I am not mistaken.

If you are then you must have been labelled by Pox "What's worse than a scummer, one who comes from Oxon." - Me also in double figures and not missed one since around 1977.

Used to love going to the Manor even better winning and then going out Saturday night. In those days it was Didcot and to be honest I have to say that I know  many of their fans and some are decent lads.

Well as you did want a Witneyite to answer...

Yes, surprisingly enough, many of their fans who are dull enough to watch league two (and non-league) football, are genuine and worryingly like ourselves in many respects.  I do have many friends in this category.

But there are many many more who hate Swindon first, and also have a passing interest in Oxford. As per your point, they don't have the social skills to handle the possibility of Oxon bred Town fans. These are the idiots to have some fun with, conversations are usually something like...

Muppet: we're massive, we sold this game out on September 15th.  we're massive, we sold this game out on September 15th.  we're massive, we sold this game out on September 15th.  we're massive, we sold this game out on September 15th...

Me: congratulations, it's a shame the switch to Wembley didn't work out, what with it being your cup final and all

Muppet: Uh?

Me: when are the commemorative tea towels coming out?

Muppet: Uh?

Me: what about the mugs?  I'd love it if you could find me one, if they haven't already sold out.

Muppet shuffles away, mumbling.

Me (calling after twat): Good luck for the rest of the season!  It'd be great if you could beat Southend for us!

That's true, Duke.

However in the quest for balance and fairness I was chatting to an employee of well known decorating centre in Banbury when i was there today who confessed, though under no pressure from me that he thought we'd win at the Kassam the way we are playing and that there is a groundswell of opinion that Wilder should be sacked or resign, fans dislike of Constable and that at best a play off place was their best chance. Those comments were mirrored by a customer in Oxford the day before, of course I did not wish to contradict such sensible opinion or be rude and disagree!
