Skysports.com has learnt that Boston United's plans to play their final home game of the season at Peterborough United's London Road have been rejected.

Posh managing director Barry Fry has confirmed that Peterborough's holding company have thrown out plans to help their near neighbours.

Boston face being locked out of their York Street ground this Thursday when eviction proceedings are heard in court.

"Boston don't even know themselves yet and I am hugely disappointed that this hasn't been allowed to happen," Fry exclusively told skysports.com.

"We first started discussions ten days ago and I've been going round the houses getting permission from the police, safety officers, doctors, and crucially the Football League.

"But I've just heard the holding company have blocked it for reasons I cannot even fathom and I'm left gob smacked by it."

If Boston are unable to hold their game against relegated Torquay United on Saturday, they face the very real threat of having their records expunged and the club will fold.

"In this day and age football people have got to help out other football people," Fry (pictured) continued.

"It doesn't matter if it's Macclesfield or Accrington Stanley, if anyone was in trouble and I could help out I would, and I can't believe these plans have been blocked.

"You can't help but fear for the future of Boston United now."

We could be promoted tomorrow then, although I'd rather not do it in that way...
