David's dad dressed up as the Moonraker at the Play-Off Final Replay v Jills in 1987.  Or some other game at Selhurst.

I remember seeing David at the Play-Off home semi v Brighton.

Presume being a golfer he works at weekends.

Great for him top be back winning.
Ray Howell used to be Swindon through and through, when he was in business in Old Town a salesman called in to see him and gloated about Swindon being demoted after winning the play-offs.  Apparently Ray told him
to get out before he strung him up in the nearest tree and immediately cancelled all his orders with the company that he was representing!!  Ray used to dress up as a Moonraker quite regularly and does anyone remember Viv Sutton from Minety dong the same before Ray took on the mantle?

Fair play to Howler for getting back amongst the proper golfers. Pleased for him, although it's a bit of a pity because he's a cracking Sky pundit.

Can't see him being in the Ryder Cup side though.

You'd say McIlroy, Poults, Westwood, Donald, Stenson, Rose, G Mac, Kaymer and probably Sergio are all definitely going to play. That's 9.

I also think they'll be looking to get Colsaerts back in (strikes me as the next Poulter), maybe Manassero as he's solid, and that Austrian lad (Wiseberger?) or even Casey as another bomber.

Throw in the likes of David Lynn (always thereabouts in majors these days), Paul Lawrie, Bjorn keeps winning, Jiminez, Olesen, even Padraig... he's gonna do well to be in the top 12 come 2014.

Agree with that DMR....but if he grabs another BIG win moneywise like this was he has a great chance.

The doors this win has opened up are enormous for him...in the top 100,auto entry to next years open and three mega tournaments for champions only.
His next aim is to break into the worlds top 50 which is an auto invite to the Masters.

Yep, I wrote that about Viv too!!  He died a few years ago in an old people's home in Purton, still see his son Paul about on a Saturday night!  Don't know if Ray still goes out to watch the Town these days, good luck to David in his quest for the world's top 100 - it seemed to me he has got the talent but cannot put four rounds together consistently.

Really please to wee Howler win, always comes across as a really nice bloke.

I remember him as a youngster playing for Broome with Gary Harris, whatever happened to him?
