The fact that we recognize that Marshall has had a good game is exactly the reason that we shouldn't jump on any of our player's backs. Pericard will have good games once he is established and shouldn't be written off after a few starts. Any player needs to show what he can do and then be put into the overall game plan. How good was Parkin in his first few games and how about Sean Taylor or Nicky Summerbee? I hate the instant response we give to each match performance.

You are right of course about the instant and often hysterical reaction to players' performances (not to mention the manager) This post from Saturday's match day thread illustrates it perfectly...
"Sometimes i wonder what the fuck Wilson is doing? He act's clueless at times! Fucking Marshall? Ritchie would have been a much better option."And that's just after a 13 game unbeaten run has ended and we're sitting pretty in the play off places.
