Can't be bothered to go to the other posts so im sorry if this has already been said but Brezovan didn't train at all last week as he had the flu, and was still recovering from it on Saturday!

I always thought the whole intentional / unintentional thing was a bit of a myth. And it's handball whatever, although obviously ref's should use a bit of common sense.

Fuck knows though. I ain't no ref.

It's the only rule that has intent in it, but it must be intentional...therefore the decision was bollocks.  If Brez had saved it form that distance we'd have been out of our seats applauding him.  It was not handball, should not have been a penalty, ref was a twat, we were shite, Vale Park is always colder than it should be too.

If the statement about Brez having a cold/not training is true then I for one feel less concerned about his performance.

Train hard this week, and win the next one...then we're back on track.

I haven't seen the goal and was more speaking generally. Didn't know the actual rule had a reference to intent in it. Fair Play. I'd still say it's more of a responsibility of the defenders to keep their arms out the way than anything else though.

I'm convinced noone has a clue about the handball rule - going back to Everton in the cup in 1997 - ball blasted against Culverhouse absolutely no chance of getting out of the way of it - end result a penalty to Everton and Culverhouse sent off - all in the first fucking minute   I still haven't forgotten that

i think Easton handball was self-defence as it was going to smack him straight between the eyes. i have seen it a couple of times now it did hit him low on the arm.

Flipping heck I'd hate to be a footballer.  One minute you're flavour of the month, a saviour, then you're banished to the slag heap.

Brezovan's not finished by a long way.  Keep the faith.

Exactly my point but Swindon fans are so fucking fickle it angers me!
I suppose now Paul Sturrock has said in his update today that Robbo has not been at his best all the fans are gonna get on his case and suggest PS ships him out! - The fans do fucking everything PS says and agree with everything he says! If he was to say the sky was green the fans would believe it!

And to say Smith is better than Brezovan is a fucking joke! Brezovan is a premiership goalkeeper, Smith is league one at best! And i feel sure if Brezovan had have been in goal half of these goals gone against us, where Smith has been in goal, Brezovan would have saved! Its not Brezovan costing us games, it's Smith but because PS said Smith is the better goalkeeper - oh it must be true! Grow up for fuck sake!

......and how many times have you seen Brez play exactly? He's only played a grand total of 18 games for us.

He's only really played a handfull of games for us and this season he's conceeded in all his games and looked dodgy - Charlton, Cheltenham and Port Vale.

Phil Smith on the other hand has played 47 games for us, and in the large majority of them he has been solid.

He's had the odd dodgy game here and there, but he hasnt made many, if any cock ups and he hasnt looked dodgy for more than maybe 20 minutes at a push.

Smith right now is our number one and is the better keeper, because he's got the shirt and he is consistent. You know what you're going to get with Phil.

Brezovan so far has looked brilliant or shit, he so far in his limited Town career hasnt put in the same consistency as Phil Smith has.

Thats why Phil is our number 1.

The rule is titled "Deliberate handball" for fucks sake!  Cheesy

Code:
A free-kick or penalty will be awarded if a player handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)

Referees are reminded that deliberately handling the ball is normally punished only by a direct free-kick or penalty kick if the offence occurred inside the penalty area. A caution or dismissal is not normally required.

I don't think whoever played in goal was particularly relevent to this game.
