i'd recommend 4-4-2 or a variation of it.
If you play 3 at the back teams muller you down the wings.
I'm sure I've not lost in 3 seasons to a team playing 3-5-2, all you have to do is push the wingers right forward, add a bit more width and select attack down both wings.

See if you can get Ben May on loan from Millwall, or/and Gary McSheffrey on loan from Cov.
Also make sure you know is coming to the end of their contract in December in the scandinavian countries to get in some quality frees.

First two seasons I played a very attacking 4-4-2 diamond formation with Igoe as an attacking midfielder and Migs as a defensive midfielder which seemed to work. I'm playing 4-5-1 in the premiership because it means I don't condede many and steal wins with counter attacks against the run of play. Like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/2hats/birmingham.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/2hats/birmingham2.jpgI've condeded 37 goals in 35 games. Works best at home I've only lost once at home but only won three times away. I started the season with 4-4-2 but it didn't work because I was conceding goals all over the place. It's a bit dull to watch though and I don't score many. 4-4-2 is probably best in league one.

I thought this was going to be something meaningful like Gumbos found himself a girlfriend or something.
Needless to say I'm dissappointed.

Howard is amazing. Parkin is good, but Allsopp is better for me, just think he fits tactics better. i play 4-4-2 with the wide men running forward, one central midfielder running forward and one running back. sort of adapted from my cm4 tactics really
