I'm not lookin for sympathy! i'm just pointing out that footballers always say how much they love playing the game and that they should be able to motivate themselves just for the satisfaction of maybe winning something at the end.
if i loved being a chef for example, but the actual job wasn't very good - e.g. wages paid late etc. would i still be motivated by my passion in the art of cuisine alone? no, i doubt it. you're taking the assumption that this is the best job anybody has ever had, which is completely untrue
