Hope all is well?

Lots of signings with more expected, plenty of positivity!  Let’s hope they all gel well, and we have lots to cheer and get behind as we look to bounce back to League One at the first time of asking.

In relation to player sponsorship, the cost has been reduced for season 17/18 and we have also combined both the home & away sponsorship into one at the reduced price.

Please find details attached, are you happy to once again sponsor John Goddard, or would you like one of the new signings?  Jack Dunne has been sponsored out of the new ones by SAS Travel, the rest are currently available.  However, we are naturally canvassing people so best to book early to avoid disappointment.

I look forward to hearing from you, and finally a thank you to you and all those in the Town End for all their sponsorship support of players in the past.

So the attachment details the changes, you actually get more for a cheaper price this year:

For the price you get both the home and away kits, so you don't share your player with anyone else.
1.)  Four complimentary tickets to the Sponsors Dinner (2 pairs) - Same as last year
2.)  You get a signed home and a signed away shirt (2 prizes) - One extra shirt to compared to last year
3.)  6 complimentary main stand tickets (Compared to 2 last year) - Tickets can be used across multiple fixtures.

They have taken away the personal appearance by a player option, which rarely gets taken up anyway.

The cost of this is £500 compared to £650 (i think) last year..

What are peoples initial thoughts with regards to what player?  By the sounds of it we have first refusal on John Goddard, and Jack Dunne has already gone.  If the general concensus is that we want to change then we will have to have another poll.  There are no guarantees obviously though..

On another point, I have done this for the past 3 years now, and I am willing to do it again if there are no volunteers, but It is a busy time for me work wise and I wouldn't be upset to hand it over to somebody else, plus it would give me a chance to actually be involved in the draw, which I haven't been since I have done it.

If it is me to be doing it, I could do with somebody else arranging the poll over the next few weeks (assuming that we decide to change) and coming to a decision on the player that we want.  I am off to the US for work on Wednesday and might be struggling to find time to organise, but will be back towards the end of next week so can then get back involved.  I will be looking in during that time so can communicate to the club if a decision is made..

I think it is a given that we will be taking part, bearing in mind we raised 650 last year.  What we need to establish is if we want to stick with Goddard or go for someone else.  So if you want to take part, fine, but give your opinions on who we want.

Also we need to establish if anyone else is going to volunteer to arrange this, or if not and we don't want Goddard, can somebody create and monitor a poll over the next week or so..

Been to Krakow and Gdansk and loved both places (lovely barmaids and cheap beer certainly helped).

I actually went to Gdansk some time ago and pretty sure their new stadium wasn't built at that stage.  We also went outside of football season I think from memory. Cracking ground though.

Maybe it wasn't in Poland that I saw the bear in microwave incident happen, I swear I saw it somewhere, perhaps I dreamed it!

As you probably know, clubs in Poland have not only rivals (kosy) buta also allies (zgody). These things change sometimes (for example we are no longer allied to Wisła Kraków) but most alliances/rivalries last for decades. So, our allies at the moment are Śląsk Wrocław and Gryf Słupsk, whilst main rivals are Arka Gdynia, Pogoń Szczecin and, perhaps to a lesser extent, Jagiellonia Białystok and Zawisza Bydgoszcz.

However, as I am 38 years old now, father of a family and all that, I'm not that much into hooliganism anymore (but I saw some action in my time). I like to think that I'm older and more sensible now. :)

Flash, it seems like there has been a mix up here.  You have put 4 names forward for the sponsors dinner when you only won 2 spaces.  RWB Robin won the other 2.

I thought you were speaking on behalf of both winners.

If RWB Robin wants his 2 spaces still, 2 of your guests will have to drop out.  RWB contacted Adam and he has told him that all spaces are taken.

RWB Robin, Flash has stood 2 of his guests down, so you just need to notify Adam of your two guests names.

Flash couldn't make it so I had to step in, but not many, Linganzi is a really nice bloke, we also had Ellis Llandolo and his sponsors on our table. There was a few tame stories from Phil Brown, Matty Taylor won the goal of the season award. Lee Peacock was there and he was pretty hammered

It was also a nice meal!! PB was perhapse a little unguarded in what he said about one or two indivisuals. ....but really laid it on thick the need for unity between players, management and fans.

He was not too complimentary about Ranger or Timlin, and Cox has got lazy.....and was pretty openly critical (despite his own personal benefit in the situation) of Flitcroft's decision to abandon ship.....and he loves Matty Taylor and J.J. Okocha (the best player he has managed).
