Title: Lost mobile phone.
Post by: Crispy on Sunday, May 6, 2012, 17:55:16
Found a phone at Party on the Pitch today, inbox me if you lost one and i'll let you know if its yours.

If I've not heard anything by Tuesday it'll be Devizes Police Stations and then mine  ;)

But the odds of someone going to Devizes Police Station are far slimmer than someone calling the club to ask whether anyone has handed it in to them... the hosts of the event where it was last seen.

Shame on you crispy, shame on you.

Would imagine the person who lost it will ring it sooner or later so should be straight forward.

My mate's daughter lost hers, a good samaritan found it and rung her home on it.  Returned within an hour.  Not sure if Crispy is a good samaritan though!

As he said it's locked, he couldn't phone the owners home number....

Assuming Crispy is good enough to answer it, which of course he will be?   :D

probably not so much the value of the phone but it's the contacts details that people miss the most, plus any photos/ videos that could mean a lot to someone.

Yes right...

if it was a decent phone i'd have kept it as well if i'm honest.I wouldn't have made a thread on here pretending I wasn't keeping it though.

I've lost phones in the past and never had them back so if the rightful owner contacts me (Posted on the Swindon Facebook too) I've got no worries about giving it back.

I'd say the people who lost their phone may find it on eBay shortly.

Any information of make etc?

Why would I make a thread and post on facebook if I was going to sell it? I'm not going to come out and say its an iPhone and have loads of people pretending its theirs am I?

If your intention is to reunite the phone with its owner then you aint really going about it the right way are you.

Surely the real question here is, why the fuck would a person carry around a aimless phone with them to a party ???

Title: Re: Lost mobile phone.
Post by: Nomoreheroes on Monday, May 7, 2012, 09:32:16
So, in a nutshell:
- Someone 'found' a phone
- He's checking to see if anyone on here or FB that he 'knows' might have lost it
- He's taken the SIM out so the owner can't call it
- He's come up with a story about handing it in somewhere random
- He's going to keep it
Think that sums it up.

If the phone has been reported lost / stolen, won't it now be blacklisted? So the only way to get it to work would be to change the IMEI number, if that is even possible on that model of phone. Also, I'd have thought if you hand it in at any Police station they would have a way of checking the IMEI and getting it back to the owner (provided it's been reported).

Not quite sure why anyone would want to keep a phone they found, they're just as likely to get arrested as they are to get a new phone out of it.

fucking hell give the kid a break, he's done more than most people would do, i guarantee you most people would of just kept quite and sold the phone or kept it, he's making an effort for fuck sake.

Crispy finds a phone and intend to keep it and then posts about it on a forum.....oh yeah...thats logical.

given the scenario, the only sensible thing that could have been done was to hand it into the club - a quick message over the pa system to say about the lost phone and job done :) anything other than that doesn't make sense

Yup. Credit to the fact that Crispy has posted this on TEF and Facebook. But it's pretty unlikely that the person who lost the phone is going to read it on here or facebook. It's a win-win for Crispy me says!! He gets to keep the phone, as well as portraying himself as an honest person! The man is a genius.

Personally, if it was anything other than a smartphone, I'd have given it to the club to sort out. If it was a smartphone, I'd have probably kept it!  :D This is why the real mastermind here is Crispy.

I bet Crispy didn't even pick up a phone, he's made the whole thing up to make himself seem like a nice person.

I love the 'Detective TEF' comments.

Think you'll find its mine. If makes calls, sends texts, you can listen to music on it and access the internet! What other proof do you need?

Does it have 'face unlock' that is the question.
