Think the record is 22 in a league season in 1968-9, not 100% sure of that though. At the risk of getting too statto-esque our defense overall this season has been historically good so far. Our 12 clean sheets are the most in four English leagues, and in terms of goals conceded per game we are tied with Liverpool and Charlton for the best record in the country at 0.79. If we keep this up it will be our third best ever defensive season after '68-9 and '95-6. An excellent defensive record so far, and we so rarely look like conceding more than 1 goal in any game we play. Wes in his time with us has probably stopped 20+ shots that many other keepers would probably have let in. Obviously this is surmising but IMO he is the best keeper we have had since the Digby era and maybe even better than him.....eventually. So I guess it's possible Palace may delay the transfer until their keeper is fit, if he doesn't make their next game recall Wes for that one game then let the transfer go through. That would be worst case senario I would think. It would need to be a fucking big virus to call off the transfer completely...
