Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 15:24:59 He went a bit bonkers in later life, but will always be a legend of Saturday tea time. RIP.

Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 17:44:59 Buried in the shellsuit whilst wearing all that bling? Apparently Cash4Gold are going to pay for his cremation! RIP Sir Jimmy!RIP Jimmy Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 17:52:29 Funny thing is, it was only in later years he went all bling. I can still remember him like this.

I think it was the lack of shell suit (which probably hadn't been invented by that point) that threw me. Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 18:18:41 I have a friend that broke his neck in a car accident when we were in 6th form - he spent a long time in Stoke Mandiville hospital & we used to go & visit - Sir Jimmy spent alot of time there just chatting with the patients etc & raised alot of money for the place - my friend was very fond of him - the hospital was a bit like a shrine to him
He seemed like a good hearted kind man even if he never fixed it for me to go on funhouse! Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: A Gent Orange on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 18:28:13 This is how I'll always remember him.

Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 18:47:57 I read today that he raised over £40 million for charity in his lifetime. Astounding.
RIP Sir Jimmy. Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 18:51:25 Fair play to you Jimmy. Not only raised the money but also gave his time to good causes. There are not many English eccentrics left and there's one less now.
Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: deltaincline on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 23:47:40 Fair play to you Jimmy. Yeah, fair play to you, Jimmy. (Assuming you're reading this essential forum before heading off into the ether) :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Bob's Orange on Sunday, October 30, 2011, 08:01:27 I remember Jim'll fix it from my childhood, good memories!!
Seemed a bit weird later in life. Louis Theroux did a show with him and he kept his dead mother's clothes in a wardrobe in his room. Also there were some pretty murky allegations about him, which I guess we'll never know is true. Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Fred Elliot on Sunday, October 30, 2011, 10:45:58 He read my letter at long last ;)
Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: fatbasher on Sunday, October 30, 2011, 11:30:41 God fixed it for him......

How's about now then, now then? Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: jayohaitchenn on Thursday, November 3, 2011, 19:58:56 Blatant paedo.

Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: herthab on Thursday, November 3, 2011, 21:54:36 Blatant paedo. I've got to be honest, I'm expecting a lot of 'revelations' to come out now he's passed away. He did a lot for charity, but he always struck me as a very weird bloke. Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Ginginho on Thursday, November 3, 2011, 22:00:44 Blatant paedo. I thought that too, was a creepy bloke. Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: betty_swollox on Thursday, November 3, 2011, 23:12:21 Apparently he hated kids....so maybe that's why he wanted to bum them.

Fuck off Title: Re: RIP Sir Jimmy Savile Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 13:53:01 Sacrilegious to some, I know, but if anyone was going to pick up the reins I think Shane Ritchie's a pretty good shout. I've got such happy memories of this show as a kid (theme music made the hair stand up on the back of my neck when they played it last week on the Jimmy Savile obit programme put out by the BBC) - and love the idea that it could come back in some form. I can't see any reason why kids today (and a few adults) would not enjoy it like we did.
