Totally agree. While LJF or Morrison may step to become a good CB, we know how inconsistent they can both be, so i think another CB is needed. Also, if 2 of our CB's were to be injured at one time, we would only have 1 fit CB.

Although, i trust DW to do the right thing  :)

I think we have three excellent young centre backs who will all get better with experience, I wouldn't be that bothered if we didn't sign a more experienced player thus giving LJF and Morrison time to shine alongside Cuthbert, and with Douglas in front of them picking up the pieces they will be solid enough.

Dossevi sounds a very good signing.

Yeh i agree that there is a very good chance that at least one of those will become a very good CB (if not both) but we have no guarentee that this will happen and as i said before if 2 of them get injured, then we would be left with 1 CB.

However, i wouldnt start sliting my wrists if we didnt get another CB.

I really hope this guy signs for us, ii feel real confident about this season. what a squad i think DW may play just 3 at the back now tho and not buy a new CB. we have a real chance of winning the leauge!! Bring on them guy cunts saturday!! :clap:

That's what I'm thinking. When I saw him I thought he looked tasty and a bit unpredictable, which will make him a real challenge for league 1 defenders. And like you say, the fact that he was being looked at by quite a few premiership clubs makes me like him more and leaves me convinced he'll tear the league a new arsehole.

B3nny, he wasn't hugely quick. He seemed to have no more pace than Cox or someone, certainly not even in the same ballpark as O'Brien. Dunno who told you that!

He wasn't massively quick but he was no slouch either. His style reminded me a bit of Drogba in the way harried defenders and got in their faces. Obviously he's not quite as good...

My brother in law said pretty much exactly the same (re Drogba). Let's hope he turns out to have more in common with Drogba than Sabin did with Henry or Opara with Hasselbaink :)

as others have said, I think our squad as a whole is just one player short (if Dossevi signs)

when i was watching on saturday my dad said to me " watch this togo bloke, he is a yard ahead of all our players in his thinking" for the next 10 minutes i watched all his runs, wether he got the ball or not and my old man was right. He seems an incredibly intelligent player, fast strong and generally a pain in the arse. Looks like he can finish too. To be honest Im more excited about Dossevi than ferry and caddis and Im a closet celtic fan.

I will state this as a fact now. Dossevi will score more goals than Austin this season.

I hope your right but he has never been that prolific in his career to date. Although he is coming from a high standard so hopefully will take league 1 by storm. Likely to start on the bench on Saturday and come on for the last 20minutes in my opinion.

It's also clear, at least from what someone posted from a Nantes site, as well as FM and his youtube vid, he hasn't always been played up front as he's also useful on the wing.

Dossevi would be a quality signing in my opinion. Many would rule his first goal off on saturday, saying "it was just an easy tap in" or whatever, but he showed great intelligence in being in the right place at the right time. Not only that, he can hold the ball up, some of the runs he made were brilliant, you can see he has talent. As for his second goal, well it was one of the best headers i've ever seen. From where i was, the ball seemed to be behind him, but he just his neck muscles to direct it with power past Lee Camp, who is no mug.

If we succeed in signing him i'd still like another centre half and possibly a winger, but they're not a necessity right at this moment.

Looked decent in his half v Forest....however you could see he was trying to get a contract, whereas Forest were largely going through the motions.

Didnt see the Forest game so can't comment on the guy myself, but he looks an exciting acquisiton. As Barry mentions earlier - when you watching his youtube vid it does look like he's utilised a lot as a roaming AMRLC, so if he does start or come on as a sub on Saturday I'm not expecting him necessarily to go straight up top.

The competition for places is gonna be hot this year....

remember John Milkins not the best looking guy but effective for pompey. My favourite keeper was Charlie Wright at Charlton always talking and joking with the fans in the town end and could always make a poor game enjoyable.

Grenville Millington of Wrexham was pretty good ar taking the piss out of the Town End as well. His successor Eddie Niedzwiecki didn't have much luck in one particular game when his goalmouth had to be cleared a couple of times during a game.

One blood soaked headband is acceptable when worn by Shaun Taylor.
