Off to the in-laws for tea, so I'll probably end up getting a kebab or something later.

I'm cooking a Red Thai Chicken curry tonight and have a fridge full of lager. 

I love friday night.

Probably sausages and lamb grills with some chips for me. Don't know whether to add bacon into the mix or not as well.

My culinary genius wife is currently knocking up Salmon and Cauliflower Cheese. An odd combo granted. Report to follow later once I've cleared up the carnage.

To be washed down with some Scrumpy Jack......

 I fried up some left over new spuds...used the last of the beetroot, ditto coleslaw, and some veggie burgers, covered in reggae reggae sauce  :)

I just had beans on toast followed by strawberry flavoured chewits

2x linda mac 1/4 pounders topped with cheese :-) no bun or anything

With the Douglas signing celabrate with abit of piggy too onion.

Good man.  Reward yourself with a cold one.

Was nice you'll all be pleased to know. Nice touch that the Salmon was oven baked rather than grilled in the pan, cooked nicely but more evenly that way.

And I decided to have some decent beer instead of trampy cider, so some Marstons Old Empire is doing the job tonight.

That Empire is a very nice drink.

Been working in a restaurant tonight.  Everyone was eating steaks but in my department (the starters) Smoked haddock gratin with a cheese sauce (smokies) and Brie coated in Polenta and Thyme with a rhubarb chutney were top sellers.

Myself, Ill probably have a cheese and biscuits shortly.

You have just single handedly made me hungry.  I want smoked haddock gratin, now.

I've somehow got breaeded chicken wings and i don't know how :(

I'm sure I am not the only one that remembers when they were 10p! Pickled onion was always my favourite.

I really like smoked haddock, but worry that it's not really smoked at all, but just coloured and flavoured.

Not sure how this stands up on Trades Description...I don't suppose smoky bacon crisps have been smoked.

I like the smoked fish you can get at the coast, particularly the east, when you know it's been properly smoked.

I once bought some dried salted fish from Mirza Bros in Beatrice Street (is it still there?).... bit of a disaster. Fuck nose what you're meant to do with it....Bombay Duck indeed.

I like the undyed stuff you can get on fish counters.  Tastes the same and doesn't look radioactive.

Smoking haddock is rubbish. You have to smoke like 10 in a row to even feel slightly stoned.

I can guarantee it was smoked.  Bought in unsmoked, I smoked it myself in our smoker.

I think that's probably now F and A's deli which I get my quota of salted cod from. Sounds similar to me, I make fish cakes from this stuff (not easy) very similar to the salted cod you get in Portugal which IMO is lush. If you want to try to give it go again I can pass my recipe on ? (My missus likes it anyway !)

Post it on here...I'm sure there will be others interested in Anteater's dried salted cod fish cakes.

 Is there any particular advantage to dried fish over wet fish? 

I had home-made Moussaka which was lovely and tonight, I had the Thai chicken salad thing they made on Saturday morning kitchen (this morning) - that was absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!

A wet fish will make your bath towells stink.

 Anyone a fan of kedgeree?  For those in the know, it's an Indian thing (British Raj) made from smoked haddock, eggs, rice cooked in butter.

 You're supposed to eat it for breakfast, now I like fish, but the thought of eating this first thing in the morning, makes me feel ill.

Love it Reg...its very filling though and as you say abit much for Brekkie....had it in Whitstable years ago with freshly caught fish...very nice.

That DID look delicious and has to be done.

Kedgeree is ace, but not as a breakfast dish.
