Title: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: blinkpip on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:03:41 I took my bike (cycle) into repair a week ago. I needed all my gears changed, old type apparently.
Anyway the repairer got the correct part in, but having trouble getting the old ones of at the front. With the messing about trying to get the part of, he's destroyed all the thread and in result he's been trying to hammer/bash the part out. If he doesn't get the part off, Do I still pay for the wreckage he's done? I can't ride the thing. The bike was alright to ride before I took it in, but gears worn and kept slipping. Can he make me pay for something that he didn't fix? Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:13:42 No he cant and if he does try then slap him
Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: michael on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:17:10 If I am reading this right then he has ruined the threads in the crank? The bike shop should have a tool to recut the thread there so he should be able to sort it out for you.
If he is struggling show him this message and he'll soon understand. Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: michael on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:20:29 Nope, I've read it totally wrong.
I'm sure he can fix it for you though :) Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: 4D on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:21:51 Sounds like you should get a new bike :bike:
Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: blinkpip on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:24:56 I suppose I would have to pay for all the wasted time he spent on it? (if he doesn't fix it) He's had it for 10 bloody days.
I don't want a new bike, even though it's 10 years old. I love it. Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: 4D on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:26:46 What type of bike is it? Racer / MB / BMX / Unicycle / Trike :D

I just wanted to know where I stand before I go in tomorrow. He said he would ring me when he fixed it, but haven't heard nothing since Saturday. Title: Re: Bike repairQuestion? Post by: 4D on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 20:55:10 It might be better to ring in case it isn't ready yet. Do you have to travel far to get there?
