Title: Give me the power TEF Post by: BANGKOK RED on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:08:56 To quit the cig's.
On my 6th day now of being cold Turkey and I am tweaking like mad. I am such a stressed out cunt that the wife has stopped talking to me, which is probably for the best. Even my vision seems wrong (can't seem to focus properly). I need a Fix. Give me the power to say no, o'mighty TEF. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: Nemo on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:10:53 I shall distract you with things that are more addictive:

Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:12:32 Whenever I want a cigarette but don't have any and can't get hold of any I find that drinking lots of tea helps.

Give me the power to say no, o'mighty TEF. I quit 4 months ago, best thing to do is try and change your routines where possible. It does get easier - after a week it's a little better, after two more so and after a month you'll start having days where it doesn't even cross your mind. You can do it BR - we believe in you. That doesn't work well on a wireless trackpad. That helps alot. Right now I feel as though I am coming down from a heavy weekend on the narc's, it has even crossed my mind as to whether or not it's worth it. But yeah, I'll stick it out. Cheers axs. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: yeo on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:23:05 Im addicted to Nicoteen gum,ive swapped one addiction for another slightly less smelly cheaper one.
Didnt have a fag for 4 months, had a 2 week blip because of "stuff" and am now back off them again. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: axs on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:31:41 That helps alot. Just decide right now that your not going to buy or smoke any more fags and then don't. Now all you have to do is keep your mind occupied on something else, but the worst that will happen is that you will want a fag, after you're not going to start again as you've previously decided. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:34:09 Just give up and go get some smokes. Enjoy one with a beer or two.
Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: axs on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:36:57 Just give up and go get some smokes. Enjoy one with a beer or two. You Sir, are a cunt. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:39:32 Yep.
You might have a horrible derpressing feeling of guilt and failure once you've inevitably broken to your desire and lit up, but at least you won't be craving a cigarette any more. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: BANGKOK RED on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 14:42:22 You Sir, are a cunt. The thing is that such things only re-enforce my determination to quit. It's when I am actually in a pub with somebody offering me a fag in person that it'll get tough. I've got work tomorrow for the first time in over a week, that'll be a test. Did Ralphy actually quit in the end? And what has happened to him anyway? Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 15:30:54 I knew it would re-enforce your determination BR, wouldn't have said it otherwise.
Although if you do quit and one day I get to meet you, it makes it less likely I'll be able to pinch a fag off you. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: Bennett on Sunday, April 19, 2009, 19:11:02 when i used to smoke i did all of the above to quit, went cold turkey (parents never twigged me always smelling smokey was due to me smoking) and just didn't go out for ages.
ralphy is alive, i see him and tans holding hands with i assume tans' pops looking concerned at the back of the DRS. that is when he can be arsed with football...and he never responds to my texts :( Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 02:13:12 Definitely quitting now.
Just woke up coughing/throwing up blood!!!!!. A bit fucking scary that, so I check it out and find it's quite normal for those quitting. Man I must have really been doing some damage to my body. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 07:17:31 It's very normal to feel a bit shitty for a while after giving up. Expect lots of spots, coldsores and mouth ulcers as well.
Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: Lumps on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 07:51:59 Does it help being hoeld up in your flat too scared to nip to the local newsagents for some ciggies in case you get shot or run over by a tank?
Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: spacey on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 08:13:00 I'm on my 15th day without a cigarette. I've enjoyed it. Infact I might restart smoking just so I can give up again.
Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: Phil_S on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 15:58:20 I tried patches, but gave up on that when I found myself taking the patch off, haveing a ciggy & putting the patch back on again.
I finally quit 2 yrs & 11 months ago, using Nicotine gum, but am still addictted to the gum. Having said that the gum is way cheaper than 40 a day, & it's better for my health. I'm now thinking about giving up on the gum, by using patches, but haven't made THE decision yet. (Much the same as I had to make a decision to quit the fags). If I had to give one piece of advice it would be to treat cigarettes like an alcoholic has to treat a drink. Don't even have one. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 16:33:55 Ouch....
5 weeks (without a single fag) and now my lungs feel as though somebody has taken to the inside of them with a brillo pad, it really is quite painful. When will this shit stop, I felt better when I was smoking. Anyway, I do have Miss Tiffany's universe to watch to distract me from my anguish. It's just like Miss universe, only with lady-boys instead of real women, fuck me some of these blokes are shagadelic. Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: axs on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 16:37:14 Well done BR, keep it up, you've been through the worst of it now.
Title: Re: Give me the power TEF Post by: leefer on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 16:40:59 A thousand Benson and Hedges was enough to kill a good friend of mine...they were being off loaded at Southampton docks ware he worked when the box of a thousand landed on his head knocking him into the water....he couldnt swim and sadly drowned....seriously though fair play to all of you quitting.
