Title: Focus on Yeovil Post by: michael on Friday, March 27, 2009, 09:35:16 Things I know: They play in green and white, they are nicknamed the Glovers, and that they won 4-on-the-trot a short while ago to break clear but are now in the shasta again.
Swindon Town fans take note of that last fact. Has anyone got any interesting facts or trivia about Yeovil Town? This could be the first in an ongoing series :) Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, March 27, 2009, 09:50:12 ha ha whenever I think of Yeovil I think of the dippy girl that represented Yeovil on that soccer night competition I was on! When she was asked her reasons for supporting Yeovil she said
" Cause they are called the glovers and I like gloves" Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: michael on Friday, March 27, 2009, 09:55:45 What soccer night competition is this?
I think I'd like to enter. Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:01:38 ummm it was approx 3/4 years ago!
It was called Phwoar Phwoar two or somethign cheesy like that! Unforunatley soccer night is no longer on and Jed Pitman no longer works for ITV! Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:09:38 Yeovil has a dry ski slope, and no less than 3 shops selling musical instruments.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: ron dodgers on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:12:25 Yeovil does not have a biscuit named after it
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:33:33 ooooo, there is a helicopter factory nearby that manufactures Apache gunships!
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Foggy on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:35:52 Not strictly true, they only assemble them at Yeovil.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:37:22 Same difference.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: wheretherealredsare on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:37:54 Not strictly true, they only assemble them at Yeovil. What, biscuits? Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Foggy on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:39:49 Not really, the parts are made in the US of A, then shipped to Yeovil to be assembled by some six fingered fuckwit and then tested at Boscombe Down. Sorry i am in a very pedantic mood today.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: wheretherealredsare on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:42:01 Aaaah! I see now ... we're talking cookies.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: flammableBen on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:44:57 Biscuits are better than helicopters.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Colin Todd on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:45:38 I want a helcopter gunship. do you think they'd let me test drive one?
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: A Gent Orange on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:47:46 I want a biscuit. Whose got more chance of getting their dream fulfilled?
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Ardiles on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:48:00 It's at the arse end of nowhere, and a long way from everywhere.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Colin Todd on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:48:40 I want a biscuit. Whose got more chance of getting their dream fulfilled? I have biscuits. If you have a spare gunship we could swap? Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: wheretherealredsare on Friday, March 27, 2009, 10:51:38 I want a helcopter gunship. do you think they'd let me test drive one? Probably not, but you could try eating a Curly Wurly bar, which although strictly speaking is more of a candy bar than a biscuit/cookie might give a semblance of the sensation associated with test flying (not driving, note) a helicopter. Especially if you spin round several times then dive head first into the ground. Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Foggy on Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:04:52 What sort of Gunship do you want? A vietnam era Huey? how about a nice Cobra? Russian Hind? You let me know and i will sort it out.

Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:12:23 Biscuits are better than helicopters. Never a truer word spoken! Im scared of Helicopters - There is a weird garage place in Melksham that I pass every day on my way to work they always have weird stuff parked there like old double decker buses and stuff and yesterday a bloody great broken down old RAF rescue helicopter parked there!! I have to shut my eyes when I drive past now which is dangerous!!! Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: reeves4england on Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:16:53 Never a truer word spoken! It's the weirdest feeling being in one but so much fun!Im scared of Helicopters - There is a weird garage place in Melksham that I pass every day on my way to work they always have weird stuff parked there like old double decker buses and stuff and yesterday a bloody great broken down old RAF rescue helicopter parked there!! Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:45:25 My incredibly amazing Yeovil fact is that my Swindon watching mate used to be a Yeovil player and used to be "roomies" with Terry Skiverton. Unfortunately, his career was ended by injury at only 20 or so, but he's still friendly with "Skivo".
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: pauld on Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:55:38 I want a biscuit gunship. I'm not even sure what one is, but now the idea's struck me of a crumbly chocolatey confectionery based bringer of death from the skies, I want one.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, March 27, 2009, 15:19:26 The last game played at the old Huish Ground was against Telford United. There is now a Tesco store standing where the old ground used to, which provides customer a convenient way to obtain everything for their weekly shop, but all under one roof. Many have dubbed this type of shop a 'supermarket'. I however don't think they're worthy of such a name, because I've never seen one that sells biscuit gunships. When that day arrives they will most definitely live up to the name.
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: janaage on Friday, March 27, 2009, 15:22:42 Last time I focussed on Yeovil was when he was riding his bike last night (around 5.30ish) near Pinehurst Road. Thought he wasn't gonna stop and my mrs was gonna run him over, but the swine's brakes worked!
Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: reeves4england on Friday, March 27, 2009, 15:35:24 Sir Ian Botham: Joined Yeovil on a non-contract basis in January 1985 and left in March 1985, twelve hours before flying out for a tour of the West Indies.
According to our good friend Wikipedia Title: Re: Focus on Yeovil Post by: janaage on Friday, March 27, 2009, 15:39:37 Reminds me of the old question who captained England at football and cricket in the same year?
