As we move into a tolerant progressive society, which allows people to live the lifestyles which make them happy, then these are the sort of issues we'll have to overcome. It's certainly cheaper than building them all their own toilets, as they did in a school somewhere in Thailand recently I think.

So blokes could choose to use either sets of toilets then?  If I need a pee, use the one with urinals, if I need a number 2 go and stink out the standard toilets.  The ladies must be loving this idea!! 

what is intollerant about having male and female signs on toliet doors? Everyone is either one or the other, even if the trannies are a bit confused.

IF you're a man who feels more comfortable dressed up as a lady then I imagine that needing to use a public toilet must be a complete nightmare. By making a small change to a sign (which makes little different to everyone else), you make there lives a lot easier by saying it's ok to use the ladies. I'm sure most of them do anyway, so it's not really going to change that much at all.

It is pandering.

Just because a very very small minority does not feel comfortable with the most logical solution for the vast majority it does not mean that things should be changed to suit the minority.

Apart from when the girls go to the loo for a chat and a powder of their nose they're now gonna have the pleasure of listening to some beered up bloke having an almighty dump and they'll have the lovely aroma that goes along with such an event!  Just because the pissed up bloke see a sign saying "toilets".

But things still suit the majority. It's not as if you're making life difficult for everyone else. So why not make it easier for the minority as well?

The word pandering suggests that you think that the minorities lifestyles are less valid just because they are the minority? Why not make there lives easier for such a minimum sacrifice?

Also it's only a fucking sign. Which may have needed replacing anyway. I doubt it took long to put up either.


You get loads of toilets in clubs and bars where only the cubicles/urinal bits are seperate for girls and boys with shared sinks and mirrors and stuff. Not much different from that.

Also can't wait to see the headlines if this goes further a field.  Blokes sharing toliets with women surely is a bit of a danger.  At the moment women use the women's toilets, blokes use the blokes.  Therefore if bloke in woman's toliet quick word with bouncer mean bloke chucked out.  Now if bloke in toilets women might think what the fuck's he up to, when there could be a variety of reasons

1.  He has the shits and has to be in there most of the night.
2.  The bloke's just perving on women
3.  It's just by chance that he and you have synchronised toilet breaks, it happens.

Could lead to some rather strange situations.  All in all I don't think I'm in favour of this change.

If a bloke just needed a shit he'd be better off using the blokes so he didn't have to queue.

If they want to be recognised as a minority then give them a fucking toliet of their own.

Not really it's quite a bit different, sharing toilets compared to sharing sinks.  You know what the state of bloke's toilets are like.  Can't see the ladies being to happy about bloke's in their loo's when the locks are broken, toilet roll all over the floor, piss all over the seats....

(I am making a bit of an assumption that ladies toilets are a lot nicer than ours!)

But if you're in a pub you haven't been before, pissed up, and you see a sign saying toilets, you ain't gonna think, I need to find the "toilets with pissers", you're just gonna go in the loos and drop the kids off!

I've been told that that assumption is almost definitely incorrect.

Actually Jan the Ladies are always FAR worse than the mens - at the sports centre anyway - the other weekend the wet and dryside toilets were both blocked with GINOURMOUS poos

The one in the wetside changing rooms just wouldnt flush - it took two of us beating it with a loo brush to make it go away.

then you get the delightful people who leave used tampons and towels on the floor - always a lovelty site to be greeted with! *sigh*

Urgh, that's minging, I'll stick to use our posh toilets at work, and my one at home.  Public toilets are grim.

If this got rolled out I would be outraged. It might not cost much to change a couple of signs in one SU bar, but if every public owned bog in the country had to be changed the cost to the taxpayer would be enormous.

And I actually agree that it makes very little difference, the trannies will probably just go in the one they went into in the 1st place anyway. In which case the status quo should prevail, and everyone can save time money and energy for more important things. A few transexual people might get pissed off about it.  boo hoo. loads of things piss me off, but I dont expect the world to be changed to make me happy, just beacuase I'm a hetrosexual white male.
