Decathlon will be your best bet at that budget - better than anywhere else

Found some of these on line for £850

Might have to bite the bullet and get one as my 15 yr old MTB is dying a slow death

In keeping with your black and orange theme, it has to be done.

Orange make some nice bikes. You should get the Five. You know the extra £1000+ will be worth it Wink

Black and Orange all the way Sam and at least I won't have to amend my wardrobe  Grin

There is a shop around the corner from where I work called "The Riders Guild" - very top end bikes (Mondraker etc) and they had one of these in the window and I'd love it. Now it comes with a 15% discount and interest free I'm seriously thinking about it.

Just that bean counter nagging in the back of my mind that, despite the deal and the N+1 rule, do I really need it ?

Hate making decisions................

Come on now, we both know that's a stupid question.

If they're all the same colour then the wife will never know Wink

The wife is pushing me to get it - probably coz she will use it as leverage to get a new Dining Room Table ( I jest )

No angle from her, she is selfless.

Trying to upgrade my very old Marin Muir Woods with a 'new' second hand model. Been the bridesmade not the bride twice now on ebay Sad

There is a rather nice Orange Crush on there I'm watching. Hmm, its in Froome and its > £500 already. How to sell it to the Mrs....

Might just wait for the right Boardman to come up at the right price...Halfrauds or not, seem highly rated

This is something I looked at quite a lot in recent weeks. The opinion of a mate who is a good MTB'er is that in dry conditions his 29er will go over pretty much anything (rocks/loose stuff) and roll better on roads/hard packed ground. For wet conditions his opinion is that they are pretty much identical to a 26er.

I've gone for a 27.5.................read into that what you will

Boardman do make nice bikes, but I think their road range get a better rep than the MTBs. You can get much better (and lighter) for the same original RRP like a Spesh Rockhopper or Hardrock.

I think the jury's still out on 29ers, but if I were in the market for a new MTB then I'd seriously consider one.
