Title: Who's going to Millwall?
Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, March 26, 2010, 08:33:30
Only 6 weeks away now, so time to start booking up the train tickets before they start getting more expensive.

I can get a Group Saver 4 for £22.50 each, which is an open ended return.

Who's in?

Actually, if you split it at Didcot, it works out at £15.95 each. Bargain.

^ That's a good idea, but I can only afford to book one Group.

If someone else is up for booking a second group I'm sure we'll find people who want the tickets.

Best to get them today because prices will probably go up from tomorrow.

If you're booking today, do you want money today?

If so PM me your details and I'll get a transfer sent over.

I'd normally book the 4 but can't afford the full whack.

Have they announced a further far increase then? Thought that happened in January.

They'll be the same price in 5 weeks time otherwise.

Just a thought (an idle one, because I know I won't be around for the game), but the New Den holds about 20,000?  I remember a similar end of season game vs Derby at the Baseball Ground 18 or 19 years ago where we needed a win to make the play offs and they also needed a result.  (I think they may even have been going for automatic promotion?)  The Baseball Ground also held around 20,000, and Derby basically gave the whole ground over to Derby fans, except approx 400 tickets that they gave to us.

I'm not suggesting for a second that Millwall are as well supported as Derby, but is there not a risk that - if the game is a winner-takes-all winner gets promoted game (very possible) - would Millwall not be entitled to seriously restrict our ticket allocation so they could pack the ground out with their own fans?

Title: Re: Who's going to Millwall?

They'd have to give us at least 10% of the seats.

I thought there was a league rule of at least 10% that must be offered to away fans

Some quotes from independant millwall

Stick the fuckers in the westupper again ALA oldham the promotion year, surely we'd sell out and create some serious bloody noise! Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllllllllllll

You lot do talk some shit.

Why would Swindon accept 300 tickets for the corner of the west stand.
Could you imagine how everyone on here would cry if it was the other way.

If the Club done that they would get slaughterd.

Fuck me, untill 3 weeks ago we struggled to get 11K, we only just got that on saturday.
Now I know I'm pretty, but I ain't as pretty as a couple of titties

yeah, i remember that derby game....still hold a grudge against em now....me and a few mates ended up in their home stand and saw a few other town regulars in there as well....

charlton took 3500 against millwall the other week so i personally think we'll be getting that allocation.....we best do anyway

i think we'll get a decent allocation and sell all our tickets for Millwall but before we start getting excited about this being a big decider etc i think we should worry about the Colchester game more and hope we can bring a big following to get behind the team there.

id hate to see only 400-500 of us there. especially after taking around 1500 to Leeds.

Yep, me and a mate did the same, and we also saw plenty of Swindon faces, just a little nod and a grin to each other. Derby fans were fucking manic that day, you could hardly hear the Swindon fans even when THE GREAT MICKY HAZARD scored.

There were bad disruptions to the tube/rail when I last went to Millwall so I went with the SAS. We won & our coach got hit 3 times by missiles, and this was a nothing game in the autumn. If there is anything riding on this game I will be there.

I believe there is but I'm also pretty certain that crowd security and safety trumps that rule. If it goes down to the final game there is every chance the Police will rate it as a high security risk and get the Swindon allocation reduced as a result.

Just out of interest will season ticket holders get priority for millwall tickets,Im asking because i've been talking to a charlton fan and as i've not been to an away game this season he thinks i wont get one because charlton base getting away tickets for big matches on how many away games you go to,Im sure ours is based on priority to just season ticket holders.

Some Clarification would be nice if anyone knows.

Going off that survey the club done, hopefully soon we'll have a membership scheme of some sort where they can track what games people go to to prioritise tickets for big away games better, although I think that at the moment, even if you don't have a season ticket there is always a way. I go free to home games so have never bothered about a ST, but still got tickets to Brighton away in PO, just got to beg borrow or steal!

They know about half of the ones i've been to, as i book over the phone and have them delivered to me. Did that for Carlisle, Southend, Norwich, Huddesfield and Jills i think. Although it isnt infallible as i got too pissed the night before and never made the kent trip, they still had their money though.

I know we've got to focus on beating the wall next week, but looks like rovers fans are getting restless so hopefully will give their players a kick up the ass........

Why is a manager, who has produced just 40 points in 35 games, still in charge of this football club.

Points total aside, I can honestly say that I am delighted I took the stance not to go to another Rovers game whilst dumb and dumber are in charge but having just read PT's post match comments and compared them to some of the texts I got this afternoon, I find it difficult to work out who is right.

In fairness to PT he has probably cut and pasted his same old post match crap from two or three games earlier in the season prior to today's game.

Anyway, for people like ZFC who blame Ollie for our many years in the basement I suggest you start waking up and smelling the coffee as if we start next season the same way we have ended this, we could be relegated by christmas next season.

Could PT go down in Rovers history as the manager who got us to Wembley and Cardiff and got us relegated.

Message to Mr Higgs. Grow a set of balls and sack this pair of idiots before it is to late

And Lester Shapter as well as Kelvin Morton, who in the late 80's in 2 successive years sent Town players off at Filbert street, as we drew 3-3 after being 3-0 up and the following season 2-2 after being 2-0 up.

If my memory serves me right in the second game sent of David Kerslake within a few minutes of the start.

This...anyone who hasn't yet been is going to think it's a top atmosphere because it will be on Sat, but as standard they are just an average-good L1 side on and off the pitch, playing in a ground they are lucky to half-fill most weeks. It really isn't anything special, although Satuday should be!

What will make the day even better is a second Bavarian beerhouse has opened in London - with a live Oompah band flown in specially from Bavaria. Waitresses in traditional Bavarian dirndls, ice cold German beer in Steins and Bavarian food, including pork shanks and of course sausages and sauerkraut.

Let hope we can get promoted :beers:
