He quoted something like they’d done 8km of extra running this week. Same Cardiff team played against Shrewsbury on Tuesday so they’d have been just as fatigued’ so just a token excuse for me.

In which case 8km is absolutely nothing.

He must have meant more than that/been missquoted. It's 35 minutes or so running!

You wouldn't think an extra 5 miles would tire out fit young athletes

Just checked, he said they did 36km this week, about 8km more than a ‘clear’ week. It’s a pathetic excuse really.

FFS...I've run about 30k this week...and amazingly enough, I'm not a professional sportsman...and I've not been 21 for a very long time...At the risk of sounding a right old codger, I'd love to know what Lou would have to say about this Cheesy

Agreed. If they were semi pro with full time jobs he may have a case

Ok it's a reasonable total distance. I guess I don't know the intensity. 5 miles of sprint is a lot different from a fast jog

"But we’ve come into the game really fatigued. The players covered around 36 kilometres (22 miles) this week, which is probably around 8km (five miles) more than they would do normally in a clear week."

And 91 other league clubs would all be doing similar.

But again, that doesn't explain us being total garbage right from the start of the game. If say, it was 0-0 until 60 minutes then Cardiff started to run away with it, then fair enough, I could accept that statement...
