Hereford at home November 1985 , Charlie Henry scored in a 1-0 win and instantly became my hero.
I think that was in about the 89th minute if I remember correctly.

Swindon 2 Brizzle Rovers 2 towards the end of the promotion season in 1969. If my memory is correct we sat on wooden benchesnear the touchline on the north side before the Arkells (aka north stand) was built

I think that season we scored more than half our goals in the last 10 minutes of games due to our superior fitness.

Yeah, that must have been the 102 point season. We seemed to grind out a load of 2-1 wins that season (feels like about 20 but if I look it up it will probably be 3). As you say we just wore teams down. Edit: It was only 6. We did have 8 1-0's as well though. 14 one goal victories - that looks like a pretty high number to me

It does feel like that! having checked we won 17 games by a single goal and we won 7 games 2-1(8 if you count cup games), one game I remember well was away at Rochdale when we were 1-0 down till the last 10 mins then we scored 2 goals in quick succession to win 2-1. Looking back though it seems like most of the season was like that, happy days

The 'Milk Cup' run..
Sunderland 3-2 Sheffield Wednesday 1-0
Still two of my greatest games of all time from that season.
The sad thing about those games is that I don't think there is any footage of them whatsoever because there was a complete TV blackout that season. Mind boggling to think of that these days.

I never went to Sunderland but the Sheff Weds game was brilliant and we should have won by more against the team from a higher league.
! Obviously not the goal but the following news it made

Oh and the massive away following to Ipswich in the next round was brilliant even if the result wasn't!

I didn't go to the Ipswich game for reasons I've long since forgotten but I remember being told by mates who went how amazing the atmosphere was.

I can't remember off the top of my head how many we took on a chilly Tuesday evening but it must have been almost half the 12,000 crowd. I remember we took 60+ coaches to the game and it was the best atmosphere at any Swindon away game I have ever been to in nearly 40 years.

Sheffield United home 1987 two nil, two goals from Jimmy Quinn I think - the second was a free kick from inside the penalty box after the keeper held it for more than five seconds! the entire Sheff utd team lined up on the goal line and Quinn blasted it into the net. Got me hooked for life the bastard! I believe this was the first home game back in the old second division after the 'rise and rise' as I remember signs on the pitch beforehand saying welcome back to div 2! Ahhh the glory years

does sneaking in 5 mins before the end when they used to open the gates count??? if not, probably Shrewesbury in the FA cup mid 70's when the BBC vans were all parked outside the Shrivvy road for the week...

League Cup Final 1969 was my first game - honestly
Got taken along in full kit - including football boots - obviously, I wasn't very old
