On Saturday's showing I am coming round to thinking that this season could actually be relatively successful regardless of whether the current manager stays.

I suspect key will be who goes with him or who stays?

Allegedly, not a Swindon Town supporter

Lost a lot of respect for him, slagged a few players off in the summer for dropping down to League 2, now he’s doing the same.

Time to see what Hunt is made of - assuming he stays. (And Wellens goes)

Another probable unwanted dip in the Swindon Town roller coaster ride that we have all become used to. To paraphrase the saying, “The manager is dead, long live the manager”, and on we go.

(If he goes)

Sort of funny that a man who failed to win a single cup game at Swindon gets to walk a side out at Wembley in the FL Trophy at some point! A competition he openly lamented.

Its remarkable how we cant keep a manager post promotion. This year is a slightly different year to all those others though.

Test now is who we get as his replacement.

Not a fan of assistants becoming managers even if it saves money. So will not be pleased to see Hunt get it.

Hopefully Jewell has his eye on another gem to appoint

Jewell has already said in the past the of Wellens goes, he goes.

But, it's evident that people in the game don't always keep to their word...

Even having a £10 bet coming in at 22/1 now feels like scant consolation for losing a very promising manager.

That said it could be our only chance of beating Darlington on Saturday given Wellens atrocious cup record with us.

Hope some of the backroom staff stay, as helps continuity. A Hunt and Peacock double act maybe to get us through this goddamn awful season?

It wont happen because no doubt it will be an internal appointment and the money wont be there for compo, but if the money was available i’d be going for Flynn from Newport, without a shadow of a doubt.

As others have said, it's a shame, and he did really pull the club out of a rut. But the really annoying thing is that he stated we shouldn't question his loyalty then fucks off down a division.

Will be interesting to see who we appoint if it's not Hunt.

Did well last season, pretty poor this season so far. Maybe he's more comfortable with league 2?
Loyalty? Does that phrase count in football?
