Took the plunge and saw The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing in Bristol last night. Clever and very funny.
Andrew O'Neill, the guitarist, also does some pretty good stand up.

Neds and PWEI tonight, oh to be 18 in the early 90's again!
Well PWEI were considerably better than I expected, I had feared that it would all be a bit covers as the line up has changed so much but in the end it was 4 of the original 5 and very very good! Neds were just Neds which is never a bad thing! Two of my favourite bands of all time made for a pretty good evening, even flying solo!

Andrew O'Neill is truely excellent. Whether it's his stand up, band or book.

Got dragged along by the missus to watch Plain White T's last night at the Fleece in Brizzle. They were excellent, shame it wasn't that well attended, only here for a few days but if you're going to Slamdunk they're playing that or catch them in Brighton on Monday apparently if you're in that neck of the woods. Apparently it's the first time they've been here for 10 years, so might be last chance for a while to see them in the UK

I was at a Sweet concert this week. I hadn't realised what a real rock band they are!
Kiss were in Munich last night but I couldn't get a ticket :-(

If you bought a sweet single back in the day the b sides were always quite hard rock. I'd argue they're more of a rock band than kiss who in my humble opinion are shite. The original lead singer of sweet was the brother of the guy who played taggart.

A good mate here sees c100 gigs a year. He rated the Kiss concert, quote "Gig of the year so far. One of the most cliched ridiculous rock gigs Ive been to but great"
So I guess it's not always just the music. We both saw Sparks, he wasn't impressed but I was. Heh-ho.

Merry hell and Fairport convention for me tomorrow just outside Didcot. For any folkies, merry hell are a great live act and Fairport are Fairport. Hopefully no scummers there.

Went to the first Communicators gig in 6 years last night at the Trinity in Bristol, the band I used to manage, new line up except for the lead singer and trumpeter.
They sounded pretty good TBF but there is no way I will ever get back into band management, way too old for that shit now.
Sat next to Cathy Barry (Bristols own Linda Lovelace!) for most of the gig, shes a huge Communicators fan which I never knew at the time I was managing them, she was actually a lovely person.

Hey, Chalkies has signed out? Did he have a folk awakening or did I miss something?
