Title: Phil smith
Post by: hanneyred on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 13:58:32
Has made 7 league appearances this season, needs 10 to get a medal.... It would be good to see him get a medal at the end of the season

Deserves one but Paolo doesnt let sentiment affect his team selection so i suspect Smith will be medal less

Quite a few (but perhaps not as many as some would think) have qualified for a winners medal, if indeed we won the division.

Benson
Bodin
Caddis
Cibocchi
Connell
De Vita
Devera
Ferry
Flint
Foderingham
Jervis
Kennedy
Kerrouce
Magera
McCormack
Murray
Ridehalgh
Ritchie
Rooney
J. Smith

7 apps Cox and Smith
5 apps Holmes

Don't substitute appearances count ? - I thought that might have been why he was on the bench recently.

No, you've got to play.

You can come on in the 92nd minute 10 times over a season and win a medal yet you can play 7 full matches and not get one.

I don't know what the FL are like for special dispensation? The PL are quite lenient when it comes to reserve goalkeepers and players with season ending injuries, if the club can make an argument that they were integral.

Doesn't look like the number of games played criteria is used any more:

At least 39 medals then plus the manager and coaching team and the tea man. Around 60 should do.

I'm sure knowing PDC there will be a few playerfs that he would like to give a medal to those that have played an intergral part, those loanees that are no longer with us although may qualify I'm sure will not get one and I suspect knowing PDC and his staff they will give theirs away to players he's won medals in his career already - although this one would probably top of his list as he is the manager

it would be nice for him to get a medal, isn't he our longest serving player? i may be wrong though. he's not the worst keeper we've had either

I know he played a part, but it would feel odd for someone like Jervis to get one considering he disappeared months ago.

I really can't imagine the club deciding to give one of 18 to Kerrouche, or applying to get an additional one for him.  Probably safe to say that anyone fallen out irredeemably with PdC won't be receiving a medal.

I don't think Di Canio would get in the way of a medal though.

Things happen but you cannot argue that Kerrouche was once an important member of the starting eleven.

I don't think he'd stand in the way if there's enough to go round, but if it's his choice to dish out the 18 I can't see him being one of them.

The club are able to apply for more medals though so it is only an initial 18
