The only thing i'd question with Adkins was his reluctance to start Lambert in matches.

What a ridiculous decision, never even heard of their new manager...seems like that has been planned for a while!

Its not even as though the new chap has a brilliant track record! At Espanyol he managed 160, won 53 drew 38 and lost 69 before he got sacked after they were bottom of the league in November.
Hope they go down and Adkins get a job managing a team near the top of the Championship and takes that team up.
Pochettino is a personal friend of the executive chairman Nicola Cortese apparently.

Apparently he'll be doing his press conference with an interpreter as he doesn't speak English. Crazy stuff.

Bodes well for building relationships with players who I'm guessing are pissed off anyway.

Pochettino first came to notice for his typical Argentinian scything down of Michael Owen in the 98 WC, for the winning pen. He did a decent job at Espanyol, for a couple of seasons, under difficult circumstances of having to sell all the better players, but got sacked recently when they were rock bottom of La Liga. I'd say this is a massive gamble by Soton, as there's nothing in Pochettino's CV, to suggest he can cope with the rigours of the Prem.

Which suggests he didn't have Owen in his Pochett then... I'll get my coat.

Wasn't that the pen where Owen dived?

TBF to Pochettino and the Argies, they didn't make too much fuss of St Michael's dive..knowing as they do if a defender hangs a leg out then a forward will find a way of connecting with it. In much the same way if you punch the ball into the goal and the officials fail to see, it whether through incompetence or previous financial persuasion then that's OK as well.

02..then, when you've seen as many WC's as me, they get a bit blurry.

Anyone that questions why a player or manager shows no loyalty to a club to progress their career should take note of this. Clubs show no loyalty either. Utter disgrace.

Back to back promotions and they sack him? Madness. Even if they went down he at least deserved another chance of taking them back up.

I think that would have happened had Markus Liebfraumilch still been in charge and they werent just using his bequeathed monies.
