He is obviously doing it to make a point but its a bit silly not putting Cox or Rooney on the bench.

There are no disadvantages having them on the bench, but potentially there is by not having them sitting there.

He already said he wouldn't take them for the sake of it, has no intention of playing them anyway.

Plus they haven't trained with the squad for quite a while, apparently...
