I see that Curbishley does not appear on VC list and if Ling is being mentioned that surely Paul Trollope should be as well as they both have ties with Swindon and are both doing an equally decent job at their respective clubs for the budget they have.

I suppose it's how Fitton wants to play it. You could spend money on compensation for a manager like Ling, or get in someone like Pearce and spend more on salary. Never rule out Byrne either, who loves youth players more than JPC.

Not that I am overly keen on Ling, but you can't deny he's done a good job at L'Orient and has provided them a stable management.

After the SPs are established aren't the odds just adjusted to whatever money they are taking on the various candidates. If I put £10K on Byrne he's probably become the new favourite. But I am not going to.

As indicated in the previous post, the bookies odds are based on the the amount of money placed for bets for each potential manager.  The odds could mean something or nothing.
