I met Redgewell when he was sat next to Jayohaitchen on the Merlin patio. We didn't speak, we didn't need to. These moments are few and far between. I didn't realise it was you at the time. Thought you were that actor from hollyoaks having a quiet pint with his lady friends

kerslake played in the legends game didn't he?
i'm not sure whether or not to feel depressed that the legends game was the best game of football i've ever seen at the county ground, especially considering i'd match some of em for fitness.

Not sure as I couldn't make it. Don't feel depressed; i started going to watch Swindon around 81-82 and the first few seasons weren't the best. Then along came Macari and look what happened next. Kerslake when he first signed (in 89-90) was top drawer. Pin perfect crosses and taking on defenders, what a top side that was. Scored 105 goals in all competitions that season.

Remember Kerslakes warm-up? It consisted of leaning against the tunnel The Ardiles team that got us to Wembley is my all time favourite side, great football and brilliant memories...............

I'd forgotten that Fitzroy got sent off for thumping someone on debut v Sunderland. In fact, my only memory of that game was Ossie trotting on as a sub, doing that crossing and touch the grass stuff, and kind of thinking this has to be one of my more surreal STFC experiences.
A few weeks later, he got sent off again v Plymuff early first half, and was soon followed by Shaun Close.....Shaun's loss actually improved the side. He went for a bit of handbags with our very own David Byrne.
This nostalgia stuff is going to get serious over the coming few weeks as we attemot to come to terms with our grief.
