Hes ace  Fitzroy Simpson (born February 26, 1970 in England) is a professional English-born Jamaican footballer, who currently plays for Havant & Waterlooville in the Conference South. He is a midfielder. He joined the youth team at English club Swindon Town in 1987, and signed a professional contract the next year. In his debut match he was sent off for punching an opponent. Before the 1992/93 season he was sold to FA Premier League outfit Manchester City for £500,000. After a couple of seasons he struggled to stay in the first eleven, went on loan to Bristol City and was finally transferred to Portsmouth F.C., where he played until 1999. During this period he played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup for Jamaica. Heart of Midlothian signed Simpson soon after the World Cup, but it was an unhappy move, and he was offered the chance to reignite his career under Ray Graydon at Walsall. Simpson helped to revive the club's season, helping them to reach the Football League Second Division Play-off final, which they went on to win. However, Simpson missed this game after picking up an injury during the semi-final. He left Walsall in the summer of 2003. In 2003/04 he played non-league football with Telford United. He went to play for Linfield in Northern Ireland, but was released in the end of June 2005, at 35 years old. He then announced his intention to retire from football, moving to the Costa del Sol, taking a directorship in a property firm, but in the 2005/06 season he resumed his football career with Havant & Waterlooville F.C.. In May 2007, he is presently a self-employed fitness guru as well as being dead. |

And a caaaaant. He always made it look like he was running quicker than he actually did - he was a favourite at the time, always a buzz went up when he was going forward. |

Thats a good point Steve, good player but never a great, could have been if he had a bit better attitude, applying himself in training etc.
Still a good player though, Trowbridges finest!
Cracking goal against Sheff Weds, but otherwise I dont remember a great deal of games he played in TBH.

I had different favourites I suppose. I'm not saying he was a bad player, just that he wasn't as good as he and others thought. Alan Mac was top man for me, not the most skilful I've seen at the CG, but his workrate and determination took him to a World Cup........ (I loved Jon Gittens as well. ANIMAL  ) |

Gitto was a total fans hero, I remember him getting knocked out cold away at Reading, out for a good 2 minutes, stood up...wobbled and carried on playing....after the game he admitted he had no idea what happened in the game! now he always gave 100%.
