Velicka is no longer wanted at Aberdeen, and they are set to let him go. St. Gallen in Switzerland is interested, but surely Swindon Town would be more attractive! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrius_Veli%C4%8Dka

The second time today I've thought a thread was going to be about a genuine link. This is forum pollution

Bagged in goals for Hearts, and scored 4 in 8 for Rangers. I saw him a few times when playing in Norway. Strong, big old school centre forward!

Nice one Norway Red. Worth a speculative punt in my opinion. We need someone of your calibre on the scouting team, at least the Scandinavian branch. Unearth another Jan Aage for us

Me too and when they're random names, I don't know, they excite me.

Well, Danny Wilson should broadened his mind when it comes to new players. I know foreign players haven't been that much of a success at Swindon, but there has been a few - and when Danny keeps moaning 'there ain't no players available', it's just a matter of looking and knowing who's available for a trial game or at least a closer look. A lot of good players in Norway would do anything to get a chance in League One, for instance!

By the way, this is the source about him leaving Aberdeen: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/aberdeen/9373767.stmAlso... Gary Johnson signed him on loan at Bristol City, but got injured after one game. He's a injury prone, that's the downside! We don't need another Barry Corr - or do we?!

A Swindon fan mentioned ol' Lorenzo on the World Football Phone-In last weekend... I was hoping he was going to ask Tim Vickery for a career analysis but went and asked a far more interesting question instead.

Anyone remember Nestor Lorenzo?
Hell yeah! I couldn't believe my eyes when we signed a player from the Argentine WC squad of 1990! GOOD FOREIGNERS: Jan Aage Fjørtoft Danny Invincible Fredric Darras (RIP) Miguel Comminges Nestor Lorenzo Peter Brezovan BAD FOREIGNERS: Kim Heiselberg Mark Tuomola Eric Sabin Bart Griemink (let's face it, he was another Nicky Hammond/Phil Smith) I'm not sure where to put Sofiene 'Gloves' Zaaboub, though... I have forgot a lot I guess...
