A Swindon fan mentioned ol' Lorenzo on the World Football Phone-In last weekend... I was hoping he was going to ask Tim Vickery for a career analysis but went and asked a far more interesting question instead.

What channel/station is that phone-in broadcast on then? I listen to Tim Vickery on TalkSport, always thoroughly good value for a listen.

You forgot Tony Galvin, also with us whilst being in a World Cup squad ('90).

Hell yeah! I couldn't believe my eyes when we signed a player from the Argentine WC squad of 1990!

GOOD FOREIGNERS:
Jan Aage Fjørtoft
Danny Invincible
Fredric Darras (RIP)
Miguel Comminges
Nestor Lorenzo
Peter Brezovan

BAD FOREIGNERS:
Kim Heiselberg
Mark Tuomola
Eric Sabin
Bart Griemink (let's face it, he was another Nicky Hammond/Phil Smith)

I'm not sure where to put Sofiene 'Gloves' Zaaboub, though...

I have forgot a lot I guess...

Galvin tried to make a fresh start at Swindon Town, where he was signed by former Spurs teammate Ossie Ardiles in 1989. He stayed as a player for the rest of the season where Swindon reached the Division 2 play-offs. He then went on to become Ardiles' assistant, before following him to Newcastle United where he took a similar position until Ardiles was sacked in 1992.

didnt velicka break his leg? Or was it medial ligament damage? Cant remember which

Yes, he only got a few minutes in fact...

From Wiki: "He lasted just minutes before injuring himself and leaving the field on a stretcher with a suspected serious knee injury. The 2009–10 season for Velička was confirmed as over as scans showed he had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury"
