238 for 3 in the 45th.  Bit of a sprint and it could be quite competitive.

Now 254 for 7 in the 47th

This plan of waiting for the last 20 overs ONLY works if the big hitters stay in
Buttler, Morgan both went cheaply
Only Root put the bat about.

Thank fuck we have more than one decent bowler  Roll Eyes

293/7 at the end of the innings. It seems the plan worked.

Still don't rate Bopara, but give credit where it's due...that 30 odd got us up to a decent score instead of a good score!

Think Ravi as a lower order hitter might not be a bad idea, he's got all the shots, just a few question marks over his temperament. Certainly worked well today.

Been away for a few days so missed the Warner thing but - Joe Root? I could see Broad or Swann winding him up enough, but Joe Root???

159/2 in the 32nd over...England need some wickets and fast! It's going to be a close one that's for sure!

Not close now - 253 for 3 after 43
Couple of sixes in last over hurt England

That was an absolute cruise!

So in this group both games are effectively quarter finals:

England v NZ on Sunday with a mixed weather forecast.
Aus v SL on Monday.

In the other group India are through, and tomorrows game between SA and WI is a quarter final but with a very ropey weather forecast meaning play is unlikely until mid afternoon.  So may get a 20/20 or something similar in which case I am going to take a chance and back WI.

Cracking innings from Sanga, bit disappointing we couldn't get Kulasekara out but you can't win them all.

I fancy Sri Lanka to beat Australia....they could go on to win it.
