Never thought we'd get cash for Timlin, let alone £50k. Great deal.

Especially when you consider he was out of contract and could've left for free last Summer.

I'd let him go for free if it meant getting him off the wage bill and freeing up part of the budget.

Other teams would be stupid to offer any fee for him when he and Di Canio have had a very public falling out.

Was anything every published regarding Clarkes side of the events on what was said/not said. Don't suppose he will ever tell his side of the spat until his has left Swindon for good.

I think the most he said was he didn't agree with all that had been said but would not comment further. Very sensible to be fair.

Quote
"I would like to apologise to the fans, my team-mates, the chairman and board of directors at Swindon for the embarrassment this issue has caused," Clarke told skysports.com in a statement.

"However, I believe the subsequent comments made by Mr Di Canio are not a true reflection. The personal comments made by Mr Di Canio about myself are denied.

"I remain a Swindon FC player and wish the club all the success in the forthcoming season, however, I am looking forward to proving myself as a Chesterfield FC player."

surely whether we get a fee (and if so the size) will depend on any competition for him

He must of had reporters all over him for his side of the fallout even if it was just a story to stir the shit.

How do southend have £50k though not that long ago they was under a transfer embargo

As for Clarke I suspect we will be looking to get back the signing on fee we paid him and then get rid of him

Bloody hell. Any more of this 80% football 0% bollocks and you'll be frogmarched off this site. Without exaggeration, one of the most informed and insightful articles I've read about the team in thirty years.
