Title: STFC v Coventry Friendly
Post by: The Artist Formerly Known as Audrey on Saturday, August 15, 2020, 05:46:41
I’ve got Premier Sport 2 on my iptv but the schedule shows a Udinese friendly being shown.

Any ideas?

Oops! Found it.

Chances of the GP Mk II today?

I've been trying to see if I can upgrade my Sky package for the day. Will try to talk to someone when they all wake up. I'd like to watch (whatever way I can).

If I use Kodi for this, which addons will I need?

This may help

Best Add-on for Sky Sports on Kodi
Fusion is one of the best Kodi add-ons for sports lovers who love watching their favorite sports on Sky Sports. The add-on hardly ever misses out on anything that the channel broadcasts. The good thing about the add-on is that it provides exceptional streaming quality and is almost bug-free.
Here is how you can install Kodi add-on Fusion on your Kodi streaming player.

From the main screen of Kodi go to Add-ons > Settings
Select Add-ons option and click on Unknown Sources option to enable unknown sources
From the home screen, go to Settings > File Manager > Add Source and click None
Type http://fusion.tvaddons.co and click Done
Click the text box underneath “Enter a name for this media Source”, type Fusion and click OK
From the home screen click Add-ons, and then click the Add-on Browser Icon on the top left corner of the screen
Install from Zip File > Fusion > Kodi-repos > English > repository.leopold.x.x.x.zip
Now click Install from repository and then click Leopolds add-ons
Go to Video Add-ons and click Sky Sports Video
Click Install and wait for add-on enabled notification

For all those who are happy to watch on mobile rather than PC (you can get an Android emulator for PC if needed).

Install Modbro, its like an Android version of Kodi.

https://www.mobdro.bz/

Download it, run the app and put in the search Premier Sports 2(or 1)...bang away you go.

I tested it last night at it worked perfectly for me.

Much easier and stable than Kodi so far for me. I run it on PC with the Bluestacks emulator.

https://www.bluestacks.com/

Or open Bluestacks, search for Mobdro and download via the app and then run.

Simple, you can thank me later ;)

Shocking with technology.
I've been offered an iptv alternative which apparently shows everything including ppv. Is this the sort of streaming service that will show the game?

Possibly. Ask if they have Premier Sports (1 and 2 by the sounds of it) available as part of it.

I have been using SportMania as a IPTV service for years, find it a very good service,  only limitation I found is it don’t do any of the Ifollow games.
Can anyone recommend any that do?  Otherwise I’ll continue to purchase via games direct from ifollow using VPN if not attending

Thanks, the issue we had with iptv was it kept buffering on either mobile network or home broadband which is very fast.
I've been told its because iptv only works on 1server but this alternative one uses 3 so less interruptions. Like I said neither of us are computer savy so unsure if this is just a sales tactic or genuine.

What VPN do you use??

ExpressVPN seems to work with ifollow, previously had IP Vanish but IFollow wouldn’t work through that so got a trial of Express VPN set it to Germany and could purchase a game.  Only used it on away games as always at the home ones.

It did have some issues sometime back but I haven’t had any problems in last 18 months/  2 seasons, have updated to ultimatemania few months back for film channels etc.  Can’t complain for the price, but would look for an alternative if I could watch the Swindon ifollow games on.

Although hopefully available easily in the UK next year if we can’t attend

I've been using ARKVPN for ifollow for years. No issues.

I have no idea about IPTV though so it's £11.99 for me.

Presume no VPN will be needed next season. All games will be available to everyone to stream on a game by game basis or via a ST.

Hope not even on the bench must be carrying an injury.

So, we should get a bit of a hiding in this I guess? Really excited about watching this. Number 3 son has sorted Mr Venkman's magic and transferred it onto a big screen for me.

Got told by the wife to get the washing in if it rains while she's out - So I did so as soon as it started, just before she left. Apparently that wasn't 'proper rain' and I had to put it all back out for her! Well, I guess we won't get any 'proper rain' while the game is on even if there is a freak biblical mon-bloody-soon!  :bye:  >:( :smugfu:  :tvhappy:

HT.  1-0. Really good tempo for the first 35 and we grew into it.

Enjoyed that 1st half we more than matched Coventry all over the pitch, the keeper doesnt fill me with confiidence, poor distribution and doesnt come for crosses much, still early though.

I though Smith took his goal well and looks lively, very similar in style to Yates.

DJ, Grant and Payne all look a class above anything Coventry have.

Very happy with that performance so far. Caddis has porked up a bit.

1-0 HT

Baxter looks to cover angles well. One brace save. Played mostly outside 18 yards box. One only panicked and fluffed clearance.

DJ looks good.

Payne looked lovely.

Grant was up for it and was my MOM (first half)

Centre back from Reading looked calm. Seemed to play a bit deeper than Baudry.

Caddis involved lots but looks chunky.

Smith. Ummmm. Has an understanding with DJ already. Heavy touch and looked a bit laboured to me. But always in and around the right areas.

Title: Re: STFC v Coventry Friendly
Post by: Batch on Saturday, August 15, 2020, 14:39:19
very enjoyable half.

no doubt Coventry started the more composed, but we created the better chances and grew into the game the longer it went on.

Dj, Payne and Smith all look to have something - played well together..

great to see Grant back. doing Grant things. Lyden and doughty quieter.

caddis off the pace, but Frenchie and the reading guy look decent.

Baxter took one cross and made a good save almost one on one.

one area of concern, we look terrible defending corners.

but as we know, the only thing you learn from pre-season is you can't really learn anything from pre-season

Goalkeeper made 3 save. One good positioning, one a bit flappy and the other showed good reach. Did well.

Odin-whatever. Played well for the whole 90 mins.

Twine was shooting from everywhere. Got bundled off the ball lots as still looks too slight.

RCC saved a penalty on his debut at Cheltenham but was awful for the 2 conceded, also at fault in his 3rd game vs Lincoln, another defeat at home.

He is probably the worst keeper I have ever seen at Swindon, but thats just my opinion.

Opinions on keepers seem to range more widely than for any other type of player. Most keepers probably save about 90% of the same shots, it’s the extra 10% that makes the difference. The shots you don’t expect them to save, the distribution and dealing with crosses. RCC in his first few games saved the 90% without any obvious clangers so some interpret that as decent but he was always very suspect with crosses and when a keeper can’t do something as basic as catch a ball 1st time on a regular basis you know there’s something fundamentally wrong, much like the amount of times he didn’t even bother diving.

I think in the National league he would be amazing, a loan to L2 would be good if we could find a team that would take him, get him up to speed by January, at Swindon hes a decent backup but he is unlikely to start in front of Hope, Smith, DJ or Payne....and thats before we sign anyone else.

Its obvious he has potential he needs game time now.

Ditto. At this level, even though it is the lower end of the EFL pyramid, confidence is a massive part of these players psychological make up. Skill training et also but you could be the best goalie in the world, fuck up and then you’re shite there after. Small margins.

I've just tried to make streamable work, so this should be the highlights with any luck.

https://streamable.com/e3m2f5

Much appreciated, BS.

Grant won't be credited with the "assist" but was typically cool in firstly winning the ball and then delivering the right ball without fuss for the first goal.  Curran looked like he had lead in his boots for the pen.  Very good efforts by Twine.

It was great to see some football but it also served as a reminder of what we are missing. Personally, I don't think you can read too much into pre season friendlies.

Talk of the Town

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08nrbbz

- Excellent first half. 'Good shape'.
- DJ and Payne looked a threat.
- Second half. Young lads aren't ready yet.
- Twine was excellent.
- Underbelly is weak and we need help.
- 'I want to get people in now' - 'We need 6 or 7'.
- In Manchester Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday (more minutes).
- Man Utd U23 and then 2 non-league teams.

- Matt Smith is signed and in training from Monday.
- Might need one more defender (Fryers pulled up and Conry and Broadbrent fitness rambles on)
- Akin raw but a good bit of business for the club.
- Zeki is nothing severe (groin) should be back on Monday.
- Kaiyne Woolery and Lloyd Isgrove - no updates - Club need to be proactive.
- Steven Benda - Slight improvement.
- Impressed by Nathan Baxter. Make a decision on Dillon soon.
- Reeves and Waite gone.
- Nichols did alright - we need to see more but we need a goalscoring number 9.
- Dylan Bahamboula - difficult to judge within the second half team.
- Hope and Iandolo both injured (both hip) - neither serious.
- 2 gks - replacements for Isgrove and Woolery (if they go) plus Yates and Doyle.
- Sounds like Rose is done as Smith was the replacement.
- Cameron McGilp is still at Swindon but agent is actively looking elsewhere.

Looked up our odds for next season we are 33/1 with Bet365 and 10/1 to be promoted.
After having a few bob at 20/1 each way last season, I do back them every year, I think the 10/1 to go up is tempting.
Sunderland 7/1 Favourites, shows how open the division is this year.

Same here,  do it every season,  wasn't going to do it last season as had very little confidence in the squad, but thought yeah you just know what will happen - Best £20 I've spent for a long time !!!,   thought 28s this season was a good price from Skybet but glad I've not got around to taking it yet,  can't see me getting a better price really but will have a scout around and let you know if I find anything better.

Clique Against Cliques (A Non Conundrum)

Cliques, cliques ya can't stand a fuckin clique.
The biggest struggle, tryna be kinda unique.
Keepin up with the Joneses,
An false pretences,
Ya can't be in love - with everyone's sentences.

Cliques, cliques then what's the point of free speech?
If all we do is nod, an agree - a human quasi-leech.
Sometimes agree,
Sometimes hate ya mate,
This is the beauty of open debate.

Cliques, cliques who the fuck are you?
New boy poster, with ya suede shoes all blue!
Miss the sign on the door?
There's an order ere boy;
No suede allowed, only corduroy.

Cliques, cliques but what about me?
What ya say should be heard, for the world to see.
But who gives a shit,
Agree or not,
This is the place to blow ya proverbial snot.

Cliques, cliques exist in all ways.
If ya try to fight it, yu'll be here for days!
Yet really ya rin one,
Ya not so unique,
Ya just exist - in the clique against cliques.

I enjoyed it too. It was interesting to see the understanding that the front 3 seemed to have too. But, I guess we should caution that perhaps Coventry weren't trying that hard? It took us 10-15 mins to settle into the game, but Coventry didn't seem overly up for it. Having said that, I suspect that Robins gave them a rollicking after the game for losing. Also, if we play like that all year, we will do well. Especially if we have more to come in!

Watched a fair bit of the Blackpoo v Barrow friendly on yotube, the whole game is still on there.

Barrow looked the better footballing side for a lot of the game that I saw, Pools won 2-1 but Barrow looked at least as good as them. I see little to worry about at the moment in them.

Regarding the media blackout, it could have been requested by us to them to you. I expect most of the Man U u23 ought to be well known? I mean I have no idea who their last seasons squad contained no more than who this seasons one does. But those ITK would, bar a few recruits from outside maybe. Our mob on the other hand may have had some trialists who could be very surprising to the football world particularly EFL League 1.
