he's the sort of experienced player we need in that position vut whether or not he's any better than gurney is open to speculation.
not reading too much into it myself, despite the fact they are ex-teammates i can't see iffy signing him unless he's definitely good enough.

Its nice to see he didnt want to come here until ditched by Wallsall and Gillingham. :-))( Well apparently it wasnt so much that he got ditched by them, its that he couldnt settle in Walsall and he fell out with a few people at Gillingham.

A few of the fans at Walsall saw it as their whole midfield were old and slow, hence him looking no different. Here he would be different as he's the type of player we haven't had for a while, therefore allowing more freedom for our attacking players and obviously a more experienced head that offers protection for the likes of Ifil - whose pace should cover Smith if he's uber slow and O'Hanlon.

as a signing until the end of the season i don't see what we've got to lose, he'll offer us another option in the centre of midfield and added experience.
i'm not convinced he's of the standard we need but i will reserve judgment until he's settled in a bit and got some fitness.
