G E N I U S Lara is a God. I can't imagine another player like him, he's just so unique. Cricket will be so much poorer when he retires. Lara was and still is awesome, he produces when it is most needed. Not really these days - his 400* and this double ton both came in dead rubbers.

to score the highest test score not once but twice is an amazing feat and that 500 he scored for Warwickshire was also brilliant. it is not easy to score 11000 runs either. he is a great batsmen indeed but to call him a genius doesn't do it for me. i wonder what his career average is? i bet there are a few who have better career averages than him. although he has played a lot of tests.

Its not all about averages, for me his foot movement, timing of the ball and shot play is the best in the world game at the moment.

you can't appreciate lara you don't appreciate cricket as far as i'm concerned
he's scored the most runs ever, has one of the highest averages, has broken pretty much every record known to man at some point and has played some of the best innings the world has ever seen, but it's not this alone that makes him a genius.
He's just a one-off, pure gold and a total magician.

I saw the great man in a test vs. NZ at the Kensington Oval.
Wasn't a great innings from him, but still.
