Obviously i was the only fool who bothered with the hugely disappointing odi's in this series :-))( .In fact i'd go so far to say that it was embarrassing and just showed how important it is to be a team and not just a collection of talented individuals. The players in the R.O.W side in both squads are on 80 grand,so Lara has so far [by my calculations] made 40 grand for 5 catches and no runs :x .Fantastic.

you cant expect a team of "stars" to gel instantly though. if it was the world 11 against England they would have probably got stuffed too

You don't really need to gel in cricket though. You can either bat/bowl or you can't.

true. but Freddie was saying that each indvidual has their own role to play in their respective teams and on this occasion nobody quite knows what their role is. i think Pollock just told them to turn up and bat and bowl tbh.

Correct. That was probably the World's major problem- no natural captain.

Don't agree with that Rich, the convicts ,much as it hurts me to admit, are a good one day side,i don't think we would beat a world eleven with as much ease as the aussies did. It pissed me off that they were saying 'the australians are back',but the fact is they lost the ashes not the one day series against us.The six day test match might be of more interest.I hope so because so far the whole concept has shown itself to be pointless.

I watched bits of all three one-dayers. Usually the first innings after a night out and then catching the very end of the game.
The World XI's fielding was atrocious.

Got up at 5.15 a.m ,to watch the test match,in time for the Gilly and Hayden show :-))( .But worth it to see Inzy throwing himself around on the boundry .Good old Inzamam, brilliant batsman but the physique of Big Daddy ,he is a real inspiration to all us,ahem, big boned people.

the aussies think they are on top but the world 11 have a formidable batting line-up and i think they will score 400 plus tbh. i also think the aussies will only get something like 390 all out

Yes,they both bowled well, and pleasing to see Fred do it in aussie conditions. Ultimately though it was a utter waste of time, money and effort .I think losing the toss in all 4 games didn't help and also the sydney wicket was a spinning one,so it was never going to last for 6 days and was hard to bat on when warne and mcgill are playing against you.Plus the batsmen are all out of form at the moment, really the icc should have picked some more English players,i.e Struss or Vaughan. Anyway the only thing it confirmed is that the convicts are a great team, which i think we already knew :-))( .Also the use of the third umpire for lbw and debated catches didn't work for me,it took too long and if its introduced the umpires will have to refer all the decisions they make, just in case thay are wrong, thus turning them into glorifiyed jumper and hat hangers.
